The Dems want to expand the FSA as quickly as possible to retain power in 2014 and 2016. Amnesty and instant citizenship allows them to do this.
I’m not a gambling man, but mark my words; by this time next year, CIR will be sitting on Obama’s desk, ready to be signed.
“Path to Citizenship” and all.
The “Me Too” Party is always a day late and a dollar short when it tries to out- promise the Democrat Socialists. The upside to this disastrous course is that they will finally push the conservatives into getting out of Democrat Lite and establishing a real party. Being terminally lazy and complacent, conservatives will only do so when there is absolutely NO other alternative.
Keep compromising with the devil and you’ll be surprised at the power you gain.
The group of angry, principled people will get smaller, as more prefer power to truth.
The GOPe is dead to me. They’ve melded into a one party system and I see no differece in the two. It’s the ‘pale pastels’ like Reagan mentioned.
I’ve got a good anti amnesty congressman but I’m warning him anyway.
why dont they wait and see what happens..I dont think the legal citizen vote hinges on giving illegals a pass. it hinges on dems convincing everyone that Republicans are a whites only party...
IDIOTS! This is destroying our country! We should be booting these people out. Americans have made it abundantly clear we want illegals OUT. To hell with us, I suppose.
What the hell is happening to our country? I’m so disgusted.
The Republican Party sold us out when they picked Romney as our Candidate.
They will sell us out again in 4 years when they go with Christie, I am looking for a new party.
"Assuming there are 30 million illegals in America, that's enough to create some 50 congressional districts and they don't even need to vote to do it."
And an electoral college in which California eventually has 70 votes, NY 50, etc. The Dems start off with 2/3 of the votes they need from day one and spend a billion dollars on ads in one or two swing states...
We boosted immigration from the third world in 1965, after being promised by Kennedy and others that the change “would not upset the ethnic balance of American society”. The GOP was never able to appeal to those immigrants.
Then in 1986, we passed Amnesty for 2-3M illegal aliens, after being promised that we would never need another amnesty because we would start enforcing our immigration laws. The GOP was never able to appeal to those immigrants either.
Now, we are contemplating another amnesty. What does the GOP think has changed?
More than half of all households headed by a Mexican immigrant (illegal or legal) receive some sort of means-tested welfare benefit, and given their level of poverty, those folks don’t pay federal income tax.
Why would the GOP’s messege of small government and economic liberty ever appeal to such people?
Since when is enforcing the law predicated upon some future political deal?
These fools are playing with dynamite.
“We’re ready to be led” - John Boehner, leader of the opposition
You gotta love those “cross border transients”. I think this will probably be WAY less offensive to them since we don’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings. What ever happened to “sticks and stones”?
Helping keep mankind warm for 65 years.
Let them in, but make them all go to California or New Mexico - states the GOP will never carry anyway (for President). Let those states go bankrupt. We get best of both worlds.
(tongue in cheek of course, but as long as they don’t turn red states blue, the damage is mitigated.)
This is part of the theory I posted and some got upset as if I were pushing it as a thing to do. The GOP will deal on immigration and move Marco Rubio to the front and go after it.
They are running scared to preserve the PARTY of the GOP
PING
Of course. Preemptive surrender is their only political strategy.
