Mitt Romney's sister blames media's vilification for brother's loss

New York - Mitt Romney's sister Jane has come to the defense of her younger brother slamming media over the way they had treated the Republican Presidential contender, and blaming them for making him lose the White House race.

Jane, the eldest Romney sister, told Inside Edition about how she felt the media "vilified" Mitt after it was reported that he traveled with Seamus, the family dog, strapped to the roof of their car.

"He was my dog...It's a crate. That's how they travel. Here's the deal. All these stupid little stories are fabricated and it hurt," the New York Daily News quoted her, as saying.

Jane, 75, also said that Mitt's wife, Ann, has not been taking the loss particularly well.

"She was crying. She was very emotional. For Ann, it was definitely shell-shock," she said.

"She won't want to be in a race like this again," she added.

According to the paper, Jane explained what she thinks went wrong with the campaign, and blamed her own family for not doing enough to help him secure a win.

"I feel like our family could have helped more. But we were scared we'd be on the 6 p.m. news, misspeaking," she added.

Conspicuous lack of surname always begs further investigation.

Jane Romney-Robinson, Democrat, supported Jerry Brown and Barbara Boxer, general nutcase aspiring actress, with at least one instance of obsessive behavior directed at a married male Democrat politician, she reportedly appeared at his home in the middle of the night and crawled into bed with him and his wife. She’d been pursuing him, unwelcomed, for quite some time at that point.

Nice job keeping her locked up in the attic during the campaign, she’d have been revolting to most conservative voters. Now she’s on the lam seeking media exposure under the pretext of defending her brother.

It was almost a case of “Billy Carter’s back and this time she’s really whack.”

The things you learn after the fact. My goodness.

Congratulations.

You are one of the millions who were victimized by the MSM's propoganda campaign.

The millions who lap up the stupid-stories. The MSM puts it out there for people just like you.

I know many, many people who wouldn’t vote for Mitt because of that dog story. They called him inhumane and there was even a website called “Dogs Against Mitt.” It has thousands of people on it. Never mind that zero voted 3 times to allow babies who survived botched abortions to die, they jumped on the treatment of the dog, yet ignored zero’s inhumanity toward humans.

I'm reminded of overhearing two birkenstock-type women talking about how cruel it was to have a cat declawed. These same two are all for abortion on demand.

While I find the crate on top of the car objectionable, I don’t understand how it can be so upsetting to a country that allows dogs — tiny puppies — to be transported in the cargo holds of airplanes. Many, many get sick and die shortly after arriving at their destinations. The practice should be banned.

"I used to like Ann Coulter, until she started blabbering about Christie and also when she gave a speech for gays/lesbians. Lately, I’ve just noticed how she constantly flips her hair when she talks. I think she is a fake, a female version of the shock jock - Howard Stern."

She's always been somewhat of a hair-flipper, but lately she's upped the bleach to a glaringly unreal platinum shade. And the poufiness! I saw her on TV the other night and my first thought was, "I thought Tammy Wynette was dead."

There were several reasons Romney lost. Not the least reason being the Republicans who, if they can't have the candidate of their choice, will vilify and destroy the nominee with all sorts of negative comments. You don't see or hear the Democrats trying to destroy their candidate, and you can bet most of them know that Obama is unqualified for the job and one of the biggest liars next to Bill and Hillary Clinton to ever occupy the White House. Republicans need to learn there is no perfect candidate, and what pleases one person may not please another, but we have got to learn not to destroy our candidates. Some Republicans refused to vote because they didn't get their way! I voted for Romney and would vote for him again today because I believe he and Ryan could/would turn around our economy. I, also, believe the defense of our nation would be more secure, and they would stand with Israel.

Chris Christie certainly is responsible for aiding and abetting Obama by embracing him and praising him to high heaven. Obama used him for a photo op and lied to him while doing so, but Christie didn't have enough sense to recognize it. He was promoting himself while stabbing Romney in the back.

I believe fraud played a huge part in Romney's defeat. I think America just got a glimpse of Chicago politics at its’ worst. Ironically, places that threw out Republican poll watchers went over 90% for Obama and other places went for him 100%. The mainstream media needs to be ostracized and newspapers such as The N.Y. Times should pay the price for their duplicity in electing Obama again.

What is extremely important right now, is to cauterize the ugly wound called Mitt Romney, or else he will carry his lifelong anti-conservatism and anti-Reagan agenda, into the next level of being a GOP elder statesman.

We have always despised the hard left, Massachusetts politician that brought his mentor’s (William Weld) politics to the top of the GOP ticket, now that the race is over, conservatives need to speak openly about him and his radical agenda, again.

“I think Bill Weld comes as close as anyone,” Romney said when asked whom in his party he aligned with.

“I was an independent during the time of Reagan-Bush. I’m not trying to return to Reagan-Bush,”

“I’m not a partisan politician. My hope is that, after this election, it will be the moderates of both parties who will control the Senate, not the Jesse Helmses.”

I don’t know the current status of that, but I have been reading exposes of it for decades, I hope there is improvement in that area.

Do you mean the current status of dogs in the cargo hold of planes? I assure you it is happening now, every day. Breeders can send a 2 pound Yorkie via airplane to a buyer. Many are sick or get sick on long flights & layovers and die upon arrival.

I don’t know. Back in the 70s, my dog traveled thousands of miles loose in the back of a pickup. If the crate was properly secured, the dog wouldn’t be in significant danger.

You DO realize there are rules about shipping animals by plane, don’t you? My Border Collie pup was shipped that way, and he arrived in fine shape.

Many of us have traveled in the back of a pickup, the Brat, used to have seats back there.

You didn’t put your dog on the roof for a 650 mile trip on the interstate though, and when he got sick from it, you didn’t merely hose him and his cage down, and hit the 70mph freeway again.

My guess is that you would have kept him in the bed of the truck.

The rules vary from airline to airline, and many mistakes are made, often. Based on what I know of the Yorkie community, the number that die — size and greater breed fragility probably play a part, I oppose breeders who ship puppies. Good Yorkie breeders will not ship unless a human transporter is employed to take the pup in the cabin.
