Dear Republican Congress, Give Obama and His Boys Everything They Want
Townhall.com ^ | November 11, 2012 | Doug Giles

Posted on 11/11/2012 2:03:56 AM PST by Kaslin

A cigar aficionado and amigo of mine named Irwin penned a note to the Republican Congress the night after Obama got elected for four more years of this slop, and I thought I’d pass it on to you. Check it out ...

Dear Republican Congress,

As a conservative Republican I am begging you to give president Obama and those who voted for him everything they want.

They want higher taxes on the rich and companies. Give it to them.

They want higher capital gains taxes that will hurt their investments. Give it to them.

They want a system that will make Medicare insolvent by 2024 and Social Security insolvent soon after that. Give it to them.

They want policies that will lead to constant double-digit unemployment rates for minorities and young people. Give it to them.

They want an educational system that entraps the poor in failing schools. Give it to them.

They want higher energy prices. Give it to them.

They want to spend trillions of dollars fighting global warming while China and India continue to tap oil and coal. Give it to them.

They want 20 trillion dollars plus in debt. Give it to them.

They want the Obamacare penalties to kick in next year. Give it to them.

They want a larger, more powerful Washington DC. Give it to them.

They want a more secular society that is increasingly hostile toward religion. Give it to them.

They want a more “fair” society run by bureaucrats. Give it to them.

They want socialist cronyism. Give it to them.

They want to go down the road of Europe. Give it to them.

In addition to the aforementioned, I say that we legalize weed from sea to shining sea. Wait ... not just weed but acid. Think of how creative everyone could be and how it would distort the Obama voters’ reality from the truly sucky conditions his policies have created. That’s what you call a bona fide two-fer, folks. You’re welcome.

Oh, and we mustn’t forget cocaine and heroin legalization. And bath salts! How could I forget bath salts? Bath salts help spice things up during an unemployed weekend! Calgon’s calling. Nothing like dumping drugs into a culture of entitlement. I can’t imagine that going south.

Yes, I join with my friend Irwin and say that we give it to them and find out once and for all who is right. If we are right, they will have no one to blame but themselves, and maybe we will finally get true change in this country and in the Republican party so that we have a real choice in the years to come.

If we are wrong, then so be it. I will gladly repent of my evil conservative ways and become a socialist … I mean Democrat.

Since we are not shooting (we are not shooting too much at each other for the moment) at one another yet, what do you think our options are? Do we heat it up by letting them have their way or do we heat it up by attacking, either way (imho) it is going to heat up. Attacking will gain us the blame. I'm looking for a way for Conservatives to not be blamed for the coming crash. Is there a way? Or am I missing something?

There is a way and it's going to be painful. Every person who can qualify for any freebie needs to go and grab it. Entitlements, the pablum of the Utopian liberal masses, are there for everyone. Conservatives have been opposed to them in principal and have not taken advantage of them out of pride. If everyone were to partake we could collapse the system without blame.

This is insane. Don’t give them anything. If the American people want what the dems have to offer, they would have given them the House of Representatives. They did NOT. On the contrary, Obama spoke like a Republican—balanced budgets, reducing the deficit, fiscal responsibility. And the American people left the adult party in control of the House.

Unless and until the dems get control of the House by election, they should not be handed it by traitorous, stupid, angry Republicans throwing a tantrum because their guy was not elected president. The fate of millions is at stake, not making a political point.

FRiend while what you say is true, I still have my pride. I want to keep my pride. Looking for another way, FRiend. May not find another way. And yes there will be pain no matter the course. We lost this battle. Would like to win this war though.

This strategy might work if the Fed were shackled. But as long as it can print money to fund obama’s programs, the pain will be delayed.

This is insane.

No disagreement with you, and war is always insane. We did lose this battle though. What do Conservatives do to win the war? Remember President Hoover? or should that question mark be an exclamation point, and a battle cry.

I completely agree however, it's where we're going, only my suggestions takes us there, rapidly. Conservatives could take the money, squirrel it away and use it to rebuild the economy. Think of it as safe-holding the Republic's seed money.

The only way to prove to liberals their methodology is wrong is to make them suffer the consequences of it.

Not a bad idea if the entire country were Democrats. But unfortunately the good folks who are conservative would suffer from Dem foolhardiness and the entire nation would go into an unrecoverable tailspin. I do not mind the idea of liberals choking on their own swill but not when conservatives will suffer the collateral damage.

Actually, to some extent I do.

Republicans shouldn’t leave positions of power. They shouldn’t allow changes that would expand Dems control over people’s minds, votes, etc. But as far as all these economic things, intrusive laws, energy, taxes, etc, I say let them do it. They have a “mandate”, the MSM says so.

If we let this country go to hell the slow way, people will get used to it (the new normal) and $7 a gallon gas will not be so strange. Faster is better - let them be shellshocked at the plans the dear leader has for their lives.

Will Smith, huge O supporter was shocked when he did a French interview and they told him they wanted 70% taxes in France. Guess Willie doesn’t read enough to know what the leftist masses have in store for evil rich folk- I say tax all these celebs at 70% and we can watch them squirm because they will NEVER admit in public their leader is a disaster. Tomorrow. It would be so sweet.

Not total disagreement, and the truth is liberals and Conservatives are going to suffer no matter which way it all goes. That is a given, and will probably become worse. To crash or not to crash? Just one of the questions.

“They do not believe we of gone off the cliff or are close to going off the cliff.”

Having read numerous leftist comments and websites over the years, and a lot more recently, I can tell you this is the crux.

The average Democrat simply believes there is so much money held by rich folk and companies it will NEVER run out. (Amazing, when you think how they believe our oxygen is practically gone and the damage a single SUV can do to the earth).

When you press them, they say, Ridiculous, there is plenty of money. The capitalists/bosses/government/rich people are just being selfish and lying, nothing is going to happen. They have so much money, they can pay all that Obamacare pensions taxes etc and it’s all there and the right wing crazies who get all their idiotic news from Malkin and Fox and Hannity will see the world won’t end tomorrow.

They really believe this, but as they talk, you can see they truly don’t understand what is necessary to run a business. My favorite recent comment - “The bosses are just selfish - giving healthcare shouldn’t cost a business more than an extra 5%”

I’ve never applied for food stamps or an obamaphone out of pride. But this is what they expect of me, this, I gather, is how I should live.

Obama is telling Mexicans to come to the US and get food stamps. Maybe learning from his new morality is what this country needs. This is what they want me to be.

Starve the beast. Take what they keep telling you they want you to have, give nothing back except what God asks from you.

I agree with it. In the meantime do away with the EITC. Do away with energy , housing and free phone assistance. Raise the standards for food stamps an SSI. Make the playing field even again.

What if instead every person (instead of every person who qualifies) apply. Imagine what could happen if say 60 - 70 million applications came flooding in for various entitlements. What if we all “lost” our SS cards and need a replacement? All at the same time.

I’m not qualified for an EBT card, but I can go stand in line and let whoever you need to talk to explain to me that I’m not qualified. Would such an effort seriously gum up their system?

Just because you apply for something doesn’t mean you have to accept it.

If we give them amnesty, America is finished permanently.

The voters said Tuesday they believe freedom is anachronistic.. that it`s time for Amerika to adopt “cradle-to-grave” coverage for every phase of our lives. The electorate, though feeling the hit from failed statist economic policies, said, “give us more socialism.”

So, with much of the article I agree. Give the people the stagnation and national decline they apparently are willing to accept. Instead of the freedom to forge their own way with a “sky`s the limit” mentality, Americans now readily accept the shackles of authoritarian rule... so long as they get a free bowl of rice.

So give them Obama`s taxation agenda and let the feel the brunt of it. All of it. They sorely need a hard hit upside the head from time to time, and this is one of those times.

Indeed. While you're gumming up the system, one less person is receiving freebies. Of course, I still advocate for collapse. What else can you do when our pResident is running TV commercials in Mexico telling them to come over and get food stamps!
