Just bought another car. I beat you Kommies.....
I’m keeping my old cars. I won’t feed the ‘rat tumor by buying a new one..
Folks, I’m a Californian, and I’d gladly pay the tripled fees.
I want the rest of my fellow Californians to get a real eye full of what supporting Democrats gets you.
Seriously, raise away Democrats. Just triple everything. I can’t wait.
Triple property taxes. Triple license fees. Triple registration fees. Raise income taxes by 25%. Raise sales taxes by 10 percent. Charge fees on gaining entry to the DMV office. Place a fee on every soft drink. Place more fees on liquor. Take a 32% cut in child support. Take a 40% cut in alimony.
Hey you Lefties..., you wanted a Socialist state, enjoy.
Just go for it boys. The more the better.
recently renewed my tags, for my 2010 KIA FortE THAT i purchased out the door for 13.500 new in 2010 this year my registration was $69, license fee $83, $8 dollar county district fees, smog abatement fee? was $20.00 ,grand total $180.00,to get this years tags, last year it was $230.00 these were fees for california...
We keep ours for a long time. We’ll be buying a new vehicle to replace our 13 year old Mountaineer in March. My Mariner will be seven years old the same month.
Does my heart good to avoid sales tax and high registration fees.
The cars run fine, but this is pushing the limits quite a bit.
That’s who’s voting for these scumbag dems who’ve ruined the state: illegal aliens and blacks. Especially the illegals - they want “free” womb to the tomb and their not only isn’t any voter ID check there isn’t even any to sign up to vote.
Pepe speaking not a word of English, barefoot, with a bigass sombrero could sign an X and swear up and down on a stack of tamales he was a citizen, and he could sign up to vote.
Decades ago Californians BEGGED for a fence to keep them the hell out — we were laughed at by other states: “not our problem, deal with it” — now that the illegals have infested every other nook and cranny in all 50 states it’s suddenly “a problem.”
Well, 49 other states you stood by and watched California go from 6th largest economy in the world to being taken over by 3rd world dirtbags — get used to what’s coming down the pike — you don’t fix the leak in the dike don’t be surprised when it breaks and floods and ruins everything.
Why stop at tripling the fee?? Increase it by a factor of 10 and really make things interesting.
I just don`t know how honest, hardworking people scratch out a living out there, what with politicians mugging them at every turn.
I would believe it. We don’t have near the problem in Kentucky where I’m at but I see a number of leftwingers I know have been transplanted from 5th column states like California and I know they have brought there voting habits with them. It’s amazing to me how successful some of these people are career wise, which would include business careers, yet they are not smart enough to connect the hardship to their own careers and businesses that their marxist voting habits produce. It is beyond maddening.
These small tax increases are just boiling the water for the frog.
They should immediately tax cars at their face value—doubling the price.
Then the frogs might notice.
NJ has raised fees and tolls, but this only works on the “legitimate” population of the state. Illegals and welfare thugs still don’t register/inspect cars, so whole areas are basically ungovernable (especially since we laid off so many cops over the last few years).
These states simply tax themselves into irrelevance.
“California has been wasting many thousands of dollars in the last couple years converting auto lanes to bicycle paths. They take two lanes in each direction and downsize that to one lane for autos.”
Another indication of the decline of our standard of living to meet that of Red Chinese peasants; the auto lanes will be for politicians and the government workers they hand out the freebies to...
When we left CA in 2010, each car cost $150 - $175 to register every year.
Registering in TN, it was about $17 - $25.
I live in Tn. In my county the yearly fee is about 80.00
One little fact that the Taxlifornia socialists have overlooked is that California is full of crazy people. Crazy people do crazy things when pushed too far.
I know the difference between the Californians on the coast and those in the valley. Most of those who go to the Austin area are from the coast. They bring money, but they also bring their liberalism and a certain contempt for Texas ways. Not life those who come from Minnesota, who tend to assimilate. Those who come from the valley are as often as not, Texans and Okies and Arkies by origin who are leaving a declining state.
Great idea! Especially as their beloved invading barbarians don’t register their cars, so they won’t have to pay.
My daughter is working in California, at a university, and keeps her car registered in Texas. Since she is a renter, no problem. In the area where she lives, they could triple the cost of registration and no one would raise a peep. The government is their church.
The newly minted Democrat supermajority proposes a regressive tax. Nice!
tax increase on cars over 30 grand will hit those limosine liberals
