Good luck finding another job . . . ever.
As soon as a potential employer sees “Hostess” on the work history they will be shown the door. No one with 10% of the brains of a jackass will hire anyone who is proud of driving their former employer out of business.
I argued with my friend an Obama union thug. His reasoning was the employees
had to risk losing their jobs because they gave in too many times.
I said to what extent do you demand wages in lieu of the company being bankrupt? There is no hidden gold the company is operating at a loss.
Twit replied, “good I’m glad they went out out business”
Duh? No comment necessary, it’s just the twilight zone.
To add to your point: good luck finding a job with those types of bennies. How many of these "bakers" were actually bakers in the traditional sense of the word? Probably none; they were factory workers that were trained to tend highly specialized machinery that cranked out pastry by the thousands. Their livelihoods were tied to a machine and that machine just died. Sure, if I made $22/hour with med bennies, a full pension, and 9 weeks off/year I'd think that company revolved around me too, but alas a lot of union workers are starting to realize that they were a mere cog in the machine. They can put "extensive skill operating the Hostess CF725 Twinkie Cream Filler" on their resumes, but I suspect that few potential employers will be impressed.
