Re: Soil

Doughty,

I grew up in south Florida, so that’s what I’m comparing Seattle to.

The soil in coastal south Florida is essentially sand, much of it crushed coral.

We can have 2 inches of rain in an hour down there, and one hour later, no trace of water anywhere.

Okay, then it’s relative. I understand where you’re coming from. Thanks for the mention.

I was thinking the same thing.

Here in south east Texas that’s not even considered a heavy dew.

Started commuting when I was 18 from Whidbey to Everett. Lasted 6 weeks. Jumped on a plane for Alaska and never looked back. Now live in a small Montana town. All my family is still commuting there and they hate every second.

Great news for those who like edible mushrooms. I hear its been terrible this year, but I think theres’s still part of the season that can be salvaged In the low lying areas along the coast, and a week of hard rain will help a whole bunch.
