Migrant workers note new dynamic (and swarm out of the woodwork)

Gorditas, it means little fat ones. Maria Alejandra shared the meaning behind these fluffy cinnamon flavored cookies with her guests, guiding the plate around the room, urging everyone to take more.

Take - tome in Spanish. Eat - come.

She bounced her 13-month-old daughter, Cielo, on her knee as she told her story. Born in Mexico, Alejandra first moved to the United States with her husband five years ago, after he got a full-time job at a potato chip factory. He had been migrating back and forth from Mexico to the United States as a farmworker since he was a teenager, but now that he has a more stable job, the family lives year-round at their home in York Springs.

"My husband knew that the jobs here were better," Alejandra said, but someday when they have enough money, Alejandra hopes to build a house in Mexico and move back home, where her parents and relatives still live.

"The trouble is our kids were born here," Alejandra said. "They go to school here. We don't know if they will like Mexico."

Her son, Luis Angel, speaks English and attends public school. Unlike his parents, his home is in Pennsylvania.

Alejandra and her family are not unlike many other Hispanic families living in Adams County. The area, home to many fruit orchards and food processing centers, has long attracted migrant workers who traditionally have arrived in June and left by October with the end of the harvest season. And while many Hispanic families still do migrate to and from Pennsylvania, many more are looking for full-time work and establishing permanent residence within the state.

Let them vote in PA to confiscate the land of the growers and give it to themselves.

Hell, we should help them. The only reason those "growers" have anything is that once the American people agreed it was their property. Since they've shown themselves to be criminals and indifferent to American nationhood, they should lose the land.

Maybe they can move to Mexico and see if the people they love so dearly bless them with arable property.

Fat chance.

“...My husband knew that the jobs here were better...”

I believe I read that unemployment in Mexico hovers around 5%.(*) That means that essentially, there is full employment in Mexico. So illegals are not coming to get jobs, but “better” jobs.

(*) It is generally accepted that 5% unemployment is full employment as there are always 5% unable or unwilling to work.

Don't laugh. That's exactly where this is going: the border itself is discriminatory.

That's what the Left wants.

Then they can swamp the country with desperate Third Worlders..Oh Wait, that already happened.

Do you know of any other nuclear power that will allow a foreign populace in to take over control of it's nuclear arsenal?

Generalize that to "American power" and you get the idea.

I can safely tell you the Russians are not planning to let any such thing happen to them.

Hussein has raised the white flag to the Illegal Invaders.

The invaders will never relinquish their first allegiance...to Mexico.

It’s an absolute outrage. Non citizens taking our jobs and benefits by sneaking in. Oh but don’t they make such wonderful gorditas. Well then, they can stay.

“if students are undocumented they can’t receive federal or state aid, which is a big issue”.... Tuff, isn’t it? ILLEGALS should NOT get ANYTHING except a swift kick in the arse in the direction to which they came from.

These kids had better be super dooper football players because I can’t think of any other group of potential college students who ever had their collective butts kissed so hard to get them into college, keep them there, and then shrug off the fact that they can’t handle standardized tests or manage to earn their degree when it’s all over.
