Former Florida governor Jeb Bush met Monday with a group of his former staffers at the J. W. Marriott hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue, just steps from the White House. Bush, a potential 2016 presidential contender, spent an hour in the hotel’s Cannon room, reminiscing and entertaining questions about his political future.
In an interview with NRO, Bush did not rule out a presidential run. “I am here to catch up with folks and promote education reform,” he said, smiling.
When asked again whether he will issue a Sherman-type statement about his future, Bush remained coy. “We have an alumni group that I like keeping in touch with,” he said. “I’m here to focus on educational reform, and that’s what I’m going to tell people.”
Neil Newhouse, Mitt Romney’s campaign pollster, among other GOP operatives, was at the meeting.
On Tuesday, Bush will host a national summit on education reform. Education secretary Arne Duncan, former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice, and Indiana governor Mitch Daniels, among others, will speak at the event.
I doubt they’ll be letting us vote from the reeducation facilities anyway, so it’s probably a moot point.

He was a candidate as conservative as you are likely to find anywhere. Someone who “fearlessly championed” everything YOU believe in.

The last winning 'rat ticket sans a Clinton (except for Obama) was '92. Hillary was all set for 2008 but Bamster tossed a monkey-wrench into things. Now Hillary is gearing up for 2016 and beyond.
Its enough to make me think these things are planned out and decided long before Americans pull the lever.
Ted Kennedy was the power broker in the Dim party and threw his weight behind Obama in a power play against the Klinton’s, in essence, to put them in their place . Ted’s now gone and the Kennedy power has waned, leaving the Klinton’s as the new power brokers of the Dim Party for the foreseeable future .
Like it or not ,on the Republican side, it’s Jeb’s if he wants it . There will be no other candidate that can match his power and money . He can, and will, pull a sizable amount of the Hispanic vote, which will be required to offset the lost single white female vote.
Again , like it or not , Rove and co. have the only modern day winning track record and will be a formidable force in 2016 if they choose to be .

And nobody wants any more Bushes.
Rove was merely playing on the periphery this past election . I don’t think he really wanted Romney to win , but he was keeping up appearances to stay in the good graces of the big donors that did want to win . He made money on it.

After these next four years of Obama , who knows what the country will want ?
I think too many people on our side were rocked by the manufactured controversy over his abortion(?) remarks.
I also know next to nothing about the guy. I've never heard him speak, nor do I know what sort of track record he has in politics. He could just be one of those guys who's rock solid, but as exciting as a wet dish rag. Remember Duncan Hunter?
I think most new congressmen keep the old staff even if a different party. Go figure.
I live in Iowa and I have no intention of allowing the GOPe force me to vote for Bush. I have no fear at all of the GOPe. I choose to ignore them. I'll vote for whomever I want and there is no one else on FR who has to vote for anyone because the GOPe tells them to. Beat them at their own game--ignore them.
I will not vote for Jeb Bush. I was fooled by the 'electability' tag the GOP-E ties to moderates this time around. I'll write in micky moose before I vote for Jeb Bush.
He will get creamed anyway. There is just no way another Bush could be elected. If Jeb Bush runs against Joe "the gaff-master" Biden, he'll lose.
Sorry to say it, but Mitt may have been as good as it gets - the RNC can join the U.N. on my list of subversive agencies that need to be expelled from the Homeland.
Does the GOP never learn? Are they really going to engage in more tail-chasing by entertaining the thought of another Bush? I have given the GOP a lot of money over the years and I have now given up on the Party altogether. Unless they can find another Lee Atwater, I will vote Third Party or not vote at all.

The GOP is heavily invested in China.
Unfortunately, China is not likewise invested in America.
It is all one-way. This means we send billions, and billions, and billions of dollars to China. While China does squat - except get better and better and building things.
Once we run out of money, China will turn to arms. With a huge budget, and a massive manufacturing base.

Like it or not , the Bush machine has the ability to pull enough of the Hispanic vote to win . It will be needed to offset the single white female “fluke/dunham” vote that the Republicans will never come close to winning again .
The loss of that single white female vote is an electoral sea change that will be hard to overcome without an ethnic trade-off vote.
