I completely agree with you; I don’t intend to go quietly (and I’ve bred in preparation).
It is weird to see NY go back to feudalism, with their hands out to those who live in the manor, seeking assistance from their benevolent despots for electricity and fuel. NJ was back on its feet much more quickly because so many of us left NY for the very reason that we didn’t want to live on a feudal manor anymore (and people refused to do so). Our gas lines had cops all over them because we left NY for this very reason (so we could drive cars, pay low gas taxes - among the lowest in the country - etc.). Our governor (not a mayor who overturned term limits because he wanted to prolong his reign) responded accordingly...
Jefferson was down on cities and "urbanism" for the very reasons you describe.
