If the Palestinians were in any way determined to form a “state”, as opposed to the armed camp they now are, they would take internal steps to create a real, functioning parliament and head of state, and proceed to set up the framework of government infrastructure such as roads, urban planning, and a school system that provided education rather than an indoctrination in anarchy. They would be negotiating with OTHER Arab nations to provide the goods and services they could not generate internally, and be creating the means to earn foreign exchange by internal industry. In short, become much more similar to their Israeli neighbors, and become builders, not destroyers.
If, by some stroke of international diplomacy and successful application of compelling legal means through the UN, all the Jews could be removed from Israel, and the land turned back to the “Palestinians”, the entire region would revert to the desert wasteland it was in 1947 and before. With amazing rapidity.
And the condition of the “Palestinians” would not be improved one iota.
To decree that the “Palestinians” were now a recognized state, is the moral equivalent of handing the car keys and side arms with plenty of ammunition to a rebellious thirteen-year-old juvenile delinquent.
