The vote to turn Michigan into a right-to-work state will take place today after days of protests in Lansing about the pro-worker legislation that prevents having to pay dues to a union.

I guess the only thing left to do is for the Democrats in the legislature to flee the state to prevent a quorum for voting?

That's SOP now, right?

LOL! Seems the Michigan Dems forgot that until it was too late.

I don't think there are enough of them to pull that off. I know there aren't in the Senate where the Rs outnumber the Ds by 26-12. I'm quite sure they would have if they could have.

I wondered about that too, as we saw that happen in both Wisconsin and Indiana. It sounds like the legislation's already been passed, and all that's required is the governor's signature. Are there different laws in Michigan for legislative quorums?

“about the pro-worker legislation that prevents having to pay dues to a union.”

Parsed that reads:about the legislation that makes union dues voluntary.

Naturally, unions are furious about this. They know that nobody wants to support them.
