I would hope that he’d used it for his registration. Most places will throw the ticket out if it gets corrected before the court date for this type of infraction.

HA! Not Florida. I was ONE WEEK late on my registration (expired mid-September, I still had a September sticker on, it was just expired by a week) and the friendly FHP officer that ran my plates at a red light gave me a $110 ticket. I got to "plead it down" for a discount to $95. For a registration that cost me about $100.

Oh, and I had the pleasure of paying another $10 on top of it because my insurance card was out of date.

Gotta love the highway patrol...
