I saw Greta’s interview with the Michigan state police commander last night. When she asked him what he was doing with the situation, he said ‘nothing, because no one filed a complaint.’

I’m wondering if that’s what prompted the complaint being filed today.

That is my point. Unless and until the vic files a complaint, little the police will do. Maybe the video was "arranged?" Maybe the vic will say it was all in jest. It would be a waste of police time/resources without a formal complaint. Makes a big, big difference. Police will now have to act.

Patience is in order. But in this case the vic will surely claim the video is legitimate as was the assault. Would have been better if he had been treated by a medical professional. Have not read that he was? All this would lead to factual conclusion of the complaint.

So, if two people want to brawl in the street, and no one complains, it is quite OK with Michigan State Police? If I stage a dog fight, and no one complains in Michigan, then everything’s just fine?

If you get murdered in Michigan, they won't do anything about it unless someone files a complaint? That seems to be the logical extension of his statement.

This is Police Corruption pure and simple. Since when does the police anywhere require a complaint to be filed when they witness a mugging/assault in public?
