I think I'm all for getting rid of the assault weapons and machine guns and all that tough, but if we want to prevent something like this, we have to really think seriously about drastically reducing the number of guns in our society, and particularly -- this is an old Patrick Daniel Moynihan idea -- the number of bullets. It is very hard to control 300 million guns. The bullets are a little easier to control.

You’re really expect the media to not cover this? This is a Steven King horror show brought to life. This is inconceivably horrible. You’re going to ser pictures of all the slain children the biographies and heroism of the teachers. All the little caskets during Christmas? This is the biggest story of the year.
Hey David: we’ve been waiting a long time. Let’s get it over with once and for all.
Note to gun owners: Buy lots of reloading equipment and supplies. Make false wall in one room of house, and set up work shop there. If you can and know what you’re doing, also buy lathes, milling machines, and metallurgical ovens. Just in case. Find means of communication that don’t involve internet and phones. Paranoia is not always a bad thing.
Never before have so many been punished for the crimes of so few.
Bullets that expire are coming.

How does one control the number of bullets a gun owner gets? Does the “controller” ask the gun owner, “How many bullets do you need to kill someone who breaks in your house - would that be 1 or 2 or maybe 3? Are you going to kill a deer? How mnay bullets do you need for a deer? Would that be 1? Here are your 4 bullets but try not to use more than one for an intruder, that would give you two more for the deer.
There is now a tax on each bullet, that tax being $10.00 a bullet so your bill is $40 tax plus $20 for each bullet which is $80 for four bullets which is a total of $120 for the four bullets. Thanks for being a customer of your Federal Government Bullet Issuing Department.
I predict they won’t take anyone’s guns away but they will ban the manufacturer and sake of any semi’s. If your caught on the street with one 10 year federal.
Is there a way to enact idiot control? In primitive societies, they simply die a lot. In advanced societies, they breed and thrive, join together and destroy their society, and when life reverts to the primitive, they die a lot. Perhaps spending a winter in the wilderness as a rite of passage, like the Indians used to do?
Because every time something bad happens the government has to “do something”. Take away people’s right to defend themselves, steal from the productive to give from the leeches, etc. They can’t ever just leave people alone, they have to “do something” to show they earn their pay and that all the entitlement programs necessitate stealing more from the producers, and “do something” to take away the right of self-defense from the law-abiding while the law-breakers will still have the means to wreak havoc on society.

While certainly plausible, this can be looked at in the context of those books on “Subliminal Advertising” in the 1970s that were all the rage - you know, the ones that claimed print ads, among other things, had the words like SEX hidden in the ice cubes, and installed on Ritz crackers.
Somebody pointed out, why bother with all that, when movies and popular culture is filled with pornography and violence. Children observe something like 8,000 murders on Television before age 18, bombarded with sexual imagery, minds twisted in schools, video games, denigration of Faith and morals in the public sphere etc. In that sense there is no need for MKultra type spook stuff on lone nutcases, it’s right out front and center and a sort of public policy.
And their “solutions” won’t affect in one iota the kind of people who do these things, they’ll just make sarin gas or something else. The criminals always find a way, the law-abiding are made defenseless.
Brooks sounds like a guy with large stock holdings in weapon/ammo producers.
I’ve seen leftists use the ‘nobody’s gonna take your guns away, so don’t complain’ mantra a lot. Maybe they shouldn’t keep saying that because it sure sounds like a lot of leftists are ranting on taking them away now.
First of all these mass shootings wouldn't have gotten to this point without the media getting it to this point where mass shootings are happening so frequently(another in a mall was tried about a couple of days ago etc).
I would cover it now something like this:
I would cover the killings but not name the perp and especially not how the media blasts his picture and every detail of its life ( and I don't even watch ANY media. I KNOW these media monsters and what they are doing so I can imagine that they are ). I would put a warning that I will not try to glorify this , show any details of how this was done nor give it any publicity especially none to the perpetrator and warn others that doing so giving attention to this loser will cuase other copy cats etc. and other fame seekers to duplicate this. These losers seek attention and importance and of course the media giving them world wide fame gives them the sense of importance("everyone is paying attention to me ")And I would report that no banning guns will not stop this only stopping the massive media coverage would. In Norway they had already banned guns and that just caused an idiot to shoot and murder 70 plus kids cuase no one had guns to stop him not even the guards.
why attacking me for figuring out what the media are doing? Why not be mad at the media for what they are doing. In fact I'll say the media are responsible for practically all the problems and evil in this country as they control what people see and so rule this country even create this false reality and have manufactured it as I described how they have created these mass shootings( this never happened in the 50’s, 60’s, name any decade) . you meant to tell me the media didn't know if they put this creep’s pic all over on everyone’s tv screen etc they wouldn't cause copy cats? get a clue.
If one person (or a thousand) drives a car while intoxicated and kills someone, do we ban cars?
