Actually, there is a more scientific explanation for the insanity. People on the edge are put on pharmaceuticals that make them more unstable during a time of magnetic field disruption which affects all humans adversely..... they are simply the most vulnerable....

That is interesting as I was wondering if the asteroid that blew between the earth and moon recently ...should have disrupted the magnetic field somehow?
