You don’t see the Captain of the basketball team doing stuff like this. Girls get eating disorders when they can’t meet the Hollywood and Madison Avenue standards. Some boys get violent when they can’t meet the Hollywood and Madison Avenue standards. You want to know why the number of married people is dropping? Those men and women aren’t meeting the Hollywood and Madison Avenue standards. “The good ones are all taken.” Well, then find a “fair” one. I believe I’ve read that arranged marriages have fewer divorces. Hollywood has been telling us for years that you are supposed to immediately fall head over heels in love with your soulmate. I think it takes longer than that. A guy was writing today and giving advice to young men about dating. He was asking why a girl who spends an hour a night moisturizing her hair and who frets over eating more than a salad would want some loser guy? I’m wondering why any guy would want a woman like that. Does everybody need a “Trophy” wife or husband? There are a lot of people out there chasing perfection and getting sadly disappointed. What’s so bad about living in an average house and driving an average car and having an average family?

Nothing at all; as a matter of fact it's a good thing! Rolling Stones: "You can't always get what you want But if you try sometimes well you might find You get what you need."

Wanting what you can't get is a lesson in frustration. Sometimes getting "it" is a disappointment. Knowing you have enough that you actually need can be comforting.
