Wanna go over all the stuff the NRA has done right? How about all of the stuff Alan Gottlieb at SAF has done? How about CATO and Alan Gura/Robert Levy?
Maybe you would have preferred that the NRA join in the blood dance while the bodies were still cooling, I'm ok with them waiting and formulating a better response.

The NRA has been responsible for every major reduction in our gun rights in the last 70 years or so. They’re playing both ends straight into their ever expanding bank accounts. They get a bill passed, then collect big time from the fools to ‘fight’ it in the courts.
