then the union will oppose it, as there's no grift in it for them to skim. plus, guns are 'scary'.
There is hope for quite a few areas though...
At the school board meeting last night, the District I work for approved a Trap Shooting team for the first time in decades. Starts next spring. There were no objections and apparently the room was packed with parents as they were going to be addressing concerns about school safety as well.
Granted, we're fairly rural, but we're also a decent sized school district with about 3800 students and almost 500 staff.
