While tragic for those involved, these mass shootings are barely statistical blip. After all, there are more than 100,000 schools in America.
In the first place, "such violence" is not "visited on our children year after year." This is bullshit demogoguery. Years go by between the rare school-associated "mass shooting," which in any case has no more to do with "freedom" than any other crime. Barely 1% of child homicides even occur at school.
None of this obscene politicking has the slightest relevance to "safety", but a whole lot to do with abridging time tested and Constitutionally guaranteed freedoms.
