‘They’ probably where deadly serious, but ‘they’ also proved fruit and veg are vital to healthy life.
As you say given the number of egits in charge it can be hard to tell, but this is just a case of an escaped April fool joke, i hope.

You should see the health and safety fanatic at my place of work, I used to call him “Guy Smiley” he walks around the manufacturing facility with a big ol’ stupid grin all the time, but I'd be grinning too if I got paid £40K per year to put up no smoking signs everywhere.
I call him “rubber gloves” too, he has a fetish for PPE’s he goes home at night, and puts on his ear defenders, and his safety specs, and his steel capped boots, and his new safety gloves, and has a w**k over a PPE catalog. He would make a great OSHA official
