Didn’t this guy all but guarantee a Romney win?

You know what's funny? If there was now a Republican President, all we would be hearing and reading about day and night from the Democrats and their "mainstream" newsrooms is that we are currently in a devastating depression far worse than even the "Great Depression" of the 1930s. The dire, frowning solemnity of their nightly newscasts would be downright terrifying to the general public, and that's exactly what their intention would be.

...Until they got a Democrat elected President.

Who can forget the raised eybrows of that Canadian scumbag Peter Jennings throughout the campaign of 1992 as he began what seemed like every nightly ABC newscast with, "More bad news for George Bush tonight..." Yep, Jennings and the rest of them took their cue from James "It's the economy, stupid" Carville and ran like hell with it.

And who can forget the New York Times congratulating Clinton in February 1993 for bringing the nation out of its recession, even though the data that showed improvement in the economy was from a previous quarter, before Clinto even took office? Sure, the New York Times did acknowledge its error when called on it, and even printed a correction a few days later - - deep in the paper where casual readers wouldn't notice it.

Of course, the President is not a Republican, but a Democrat. The Democrat "mainstream" newsrooms worked hard to get their communist scumbag Ubama elected and you better believe they will do everything in their power to protect him. Lying about the economy is "job one".

What we are witnessing now from the Democrat "mainstream" newsrooms is an approach to reporting on the state of the economy that would make "Baghdad Bob" blush. They relentlessly continue to report on the status of the make-believe "recovery" as if anybody with an IQ over 75 even buys the premise that there is a recovery at all. You can only wonder if the Democrat anchors, reporters, and pundits inwardly roll their eyes at their own brazen hypocrisy.

and THAT is why the sudden rush to buy long arms...get them before you need them, and before any ban attempt.
Those doing so know its not a matter of 'if' anymore...
People are scared, and rightly so. Only God knows what kind of unrest will come from an economic collapse.

says the author...

There you have it then.. he’s playing the GLAD Game..
the game PollyAnnna liked to play when faced with facts..
i.e. Ignore reality..

The House and the Senate are doing “WeekEnd at Bernies” with the republican party..
Each one under each of Bernies arms.. holding him up..

Clue to the author..: The republican Party is quite DEAD you know?..

I'm not surprised at the content of this article. I am surprised to find it on Fox.

What does it mean when Ann Barnhardt's basic explanation of our current fiscal future appears in mainstream news?

He's exactly right. I'm the most positive guy in the world but I also know my bible. It doesn't fail. Every nation that professes a belief in God and enshrines it in their founding and then later turns its back on that same God and his laws always fails. Always.

Like a dying engine the economy may get better for a moment or two but the path is clear....it's dying.

What no one is talking about when it comes to the collapse of the old Soviet Union was what caused it.

There were, IMHO, two major causes.

The first, and perhaps most critical, was President Reagan's SDI program. It loaded a whole new financial burden on a weak economy. The Soviet leadership were faced with either adding more debt or surrendering their perks and power. They chose to add a whole new industry, their counter point to SDI, with all the associated costs. Why else would our abandonment of SDI become their only demand for continued arms reduction?

The second was their absolute insistence on a centrally managed economy. With all the time lags, and intermediate bureaucracies this meant nothing could be produced at any viable levels. Again their leadership were faced with either adapting or collapsing.

Where is the US today?

We have more central management of our economy than ever. And, we are seeing where that is leading (the last 40 months of employment figures - the total package - tells us that. Our national and state leaders have the same choice - change or collapse. Want to guess which route they are taking?

The push for green energy and sustainable growth have created massive problems and out right corruption as the central government “manages” the growth of this whole new industry which has no demand for it. Our national and state leaders need to make a choice - cut our losses or collapse. Again, want to take a guess which route they will take?

The absolute impact of criminally stupid economic policies is in the world's most recent past - well within the “living memory” of our Republic. Unfortunately our leadership firmly believes that it can not, will not, must not happen to them. Why? because they weren't in charge during the last collapse therefore their repeat of the same policies will come out different.

>>..then we are facing a long decline and the eventual end of America<<

It is my belief, decline of America IS the agenda with some very powerful folks in this country.

No more American exceptionalism, no more lone superpower. These people want America to be just another nation, among nations.

Remember Obozo leaning over (hot mic moment) and whispering to the Russian leader...”wait till after the election...”.

If America unilaterally reduces our nuclear arsenal, then we become less threatening, thus prompting other countries to reduce their stockpiles and or become less aggressive toward the U.S..

So it goes, we now have another four year nightmare ahead.

We are not only on the verge of an economic Depression greater than that of the 1930s we are also on the verge of the greatest tyranny since King George ruled us as colonies. Read the Declaration of Independence especially the list of “usurpations” imposed by King George. You will find the usurpations seem very familiar to current Obama policies.

“This time we are in such deep trouble, the only solution is a radical restructuring of the politicians, the economy, and the way we view personal responsibility versus government handouts. If those changes don't come then we are facing a long decline and the eventual end of America.”

There is 0% chance that politicians and the American public will voluntarily cut handouts necessary to avoid collapse. We ARE going to collapse. The only question is, will Americans blame socialism or capitalism? Before Dali Bama was reelected, I'd have answered, “socialism”. Now, I will answer, “capitalism”. That's exactly why the president is trying to CAUSE a collapse. He will blame capitalism and call for an end to it in America. Most will go along with it.

Get ready to hunker down, Folks.

If he just snapped out of it two years ago, Mr. Root is neither timely nor particularly astute. This has been evident since late 2007 to myself and many others, written about and thoroughly wrangled with on these pages of FR and quite a few others.

The only question remaining is how long can the illusion of near-normalcy be maintained. Longer than many expect is the answer, but the end result will ultimately be the same. If we come out the other end of this inside of a decade, with our currency and nation intact, we should count ourselves lucky, imho.

Some say the glass is half full. Others say the glass is half empty. I say the glass is cracked and leaking, and that Obama broke it. What is scarier, is that Obama is still whacking away at the glass because he wants it broken all the way!
