How long can someone stay on unemployment now? Is it still 99 weeks? How is that done - with federal monies?

I think now, most states have an initial period of 26 weeks if it’s a layoff job loss. Then Federal funded extensions of up to a total of 99 weeks are available IF the Feds fund and authorize the extensions and the State agrees.
