I came across these prayers/quotes I'd previously saved. Thought they might prove useful, in these days...

A Prayer for the Nation
Almighty God, Who has given us this good land for our heritage; We humbly beseech Thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of Thy favor and glad to do Thy will. Bless our land with honorable ministry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion, from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people, the multitude brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endow with Thy spirit of wisdom those whom in Thy name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that through obedience to Thy law, we may show forth Thy praise among the nations of the earth. In time of prosperity fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in Thee to fail; all of which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin"-- Samuel Adams 1783
"We Recognize No Sovereign but God, and no King but Jesus!"-- John Adams 1775
"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religion but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We shall not fight alone. God presides over the destinies of nations."-- Patrick Henry 1776
Happy New Year, onyx.
Wanted to let you know I prayed for our country at 9:00 pm.
Since the election I am watching Fox a LOT less, and I have become a fan of Duck Dynasty. And I am a city boy.
Ephesians 6:12 —I am in that fight.
Blessings.
