Lance Armstrong has decided to come clean, so to speak. Since the big dope’s life is essentially ruined, he’s apparently going to admit it all and ask for forgiveness. And who better to give it to him that Oprah? She’s got him on January 17 from 9 to 10:30pm on the hard to find OWN channel. Good for her. It used to be that celebrities went to Larry King or Barbara Walters when they needed to eat crow publicly and return to the world....(snip) ...We will wait for the usual clips, leaks, and advance bites. PS Apparently the Showtime show, “60 Minutes Sports” is also headlining a tremendous piece by Scott Pelley. Check it out at CBSNews.com...(snip)

Poorly written non-story / half-editorial. Huffpost adds: (excerpt)

LOS ANGELES -- Lance Armstrong has agreed to a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey where he will address allegations that he used performance-enhancing drugs during his cycling career.

According to a release posted on Oprah's website on Tuesday, it's the first interview with Armstrong since his athletic career crumbled under the weight of a massive report by USADA detailing allegations of drug use by the famous cyclist and teammates on his U.S. Postal Service teams.

It's unclear if the interview at Armstrong's home in Austin, Texas, has already been taped. Nicole Nichols, a spokeswoman for Oprah Winfrey Network & Harpo Studios, declined comment.

The show will air at 9 p.m. EST on Jan. 17 on OWN and Oprah.com. (excerpt)

I’ve heard that it is a big myth that you have to appeal in person to Oprah, many say that just praying to her from your own home is equally valid.

F that! I say you've lied this long, go down with the ship! Take it to your grave. Swallow that guilt way down and live out the rest of your life quietly, out of the public eye. But for heaven's sake don't whore yourself out to entertainment TV, taking a couple hundreds dollars a show to cry, and whimper and beg for forgiveness. You knew there could be consequences, you made your decision. You decided to cheat and win over and over and over again. Man up and live with it. When asked, reply stoically “I admit nothing.” or say nothing at all.

I stuck with this guy thinking there was no way he was guilty after always passing and never failing a doping test.

It’s a downright conspiracy on his part. Surely the people had to know why they were giving him blood transfusions to make him clean.

F him!

Things are *really* getting weird in this country. Some wackjob went on for no-telling-how-long on an American Thinker article the other day about “Father 0bama”, Jamie Fox calls 0bam his “lord & savior” & now this. :-/

Some of his recent tweets suggest his stance may be - he did what he had to do to win. After all, he as racing against a field of dopers and he only did what they did to level the playing field.

Not sure it’s going to fly with anyone though. He’d be missing the point that all doping in not created equal and maybe he just doped better then everyone else, not that he was really a better rider then everyone else.

He built his business model on being a clean rider.

He should ask Greg Lemond for forgiveness.

Ha! That does explain how he can ride all those hours on that tiny bike seat. Still, I am disgusted by the mental picture of him groveling before Oprah or any other entertainment TV huckster. I really miss the days when people had shame. Shame was awesome.
