I suspect the biggest battles would occur in Arizona.
If the liberal western coalition was able to take Arizona by force (and it would be bloody), they could secure the Colorado river and link New Mexico and Colorado to their coalition along with Nevada and their liberal core of California, Oregon and Washington state.
i’m from calyfornia but if it tried to fight arizona i’d be on arizona’s side in a heartbeat..
