Anti-trust – The Case Against Congress, Courts and Obama

Ironic it is that “anti-trust” is a very common phrase inside the beltway. It is growing outside as well.

When applied to people and institutions, “trust” means the confident expectation of them doing something specific, such as keeping their word, being honest, not stealing from you and deferring to your personal prerogatives. The antithesis of trust – or anti-trust, to abuse the term – requires either violating the basic principles of trust or being of such low character as to never earn trust.

Congress doubled down on their anti-trust personae.

One should never trust any politician. By their nature, they seek to exercise power. The desire to aspire to authority shows a willingness to use that power against someone, somewhere (which makes ever quaint libertarians endearing because they want power in order to reduce it). Politicians need to be viewed as toddlers toying with TNT – they could be trusted, but shouldn’t be.

The same applies to Supreme Court justices, who in all ages have been ideologically driven and are thus are merely a more pompous form of politician. Aside from a handful of robed constitutional originalist, judges will weld together arrays of weasel words to condone uncondonable law, such as the spaghetti logic applied by Chief Justice Roberts in the Obamacare case or the majority in the Wickard catastrophe. Stipulated that the Constitution is the express written will of the American people, then any of the above cited justices deserve an even higher place than they currently hold.

Herein we can grant Barack Obama a bye, in as much as he entered office without trust and thus has not technically abused it. This week we shall see this in resplendent brilliance. Obama’s antagonism to gun owner rights goes back to his days in Chicago. Aside from spending eight years guiding investments by the gun control industry’s finance arm, nearly every vote he cast was against gun owners and common self-defense (I say “nearly” because his spotty attendance record likely caused him to miss many such opportunities). Thus, when Obama appointed an equally anti-civil rights politician – VP Joe “Club For Men” Biden – to head-up an “investigative” committee concerning gun violence, we knew in advance that it was a kabuki canard. An open mic once caught Barack telling succubus Sarah Brady that she would get her gun control wish list after reelection, so we know the outcome of Biden’s bunko in advance.

Oddly, we can trust Obama ... to violate constitutional trust.

Having walked to odd streets of Berkeley – which still resonate with 1960’s rhetoric and the unique aromatic mixture of piss, pout and patchouli – I can revise their basic anti-establishment sentiment, reworded for the current cabals in congress, courts and the White House.

No trust, no peace.
