Here’s a crazy idea. How about we just ignore skin color and ask... Is he/she qualified for the job? GASP! What!
This isn’t really a matter of who is ‘qualified’ for the job, as much as who is the best possible coach that each team is able to identify and hire. (But we’re getting at the same point.)
Still, it is very human to justify any advantage given—and to take it. Used to be done in a way that disadvantaged blacks, but now obviously it gives them the advantage.
