BURLINGTON, Vt. —The Burlington Police Department is getting caught in the crossfire between Burlington City Council and Second Amendment advocates.
A shooting range in Morrisville, Vt. is no longer letting Burlington Police officers train there.

In this age of politicization, neutral is not a color. Time to $hit or get off the pot.
Vermont is a crazy state with a lot of explicit socialism — but they are also a Constitutional Carry state, and there are not that many of those. The City Council made a bad vote, and the gun owners don’t like it.
If they are not for me they are against me!

What a mess!
As much as I am all for sending of messages, I hate to see rank and file cops suffer. My experience with the police has been that most of the madness resides at the top. The guys on the beat have to put up with a lot of crap, and I don’t like seeing them penalized because the voters have elected idiots.
What a sad thing, considering the name of the range.
The PD Deputy cheif said:
“It is unfortunate that this important and much-needed community dialogue regarding gun control currently under way in the city of Burlington and across the nation has resulted in this action,”
I wouldn’t let the sonsabitches on my range either, if that is their attitude.
Elections should have consequences. For far too long, the DoNut Munchers Union has been more motivated to care for its members than to the public and the Constitution.
Once, oaths had meaning, fixed meanings, too.

The whole lot of Neo Europa should be purged from America. There is simply no need for those states any longer.
IMO, Unions in general don’t really care that much about their members at all. They are just the pawns.
The union leadership cares only for the well being of the union leadership.
People don’t want to believe the police would lie at Sandy Hook, but they don’t realize cops in New England are just another leftist bloc.
Who are the people still privileged to use that shooting range?
Let them train elsewhere.
I agree, I agree, but I also know how it is.
Down here in Texas we are ‘backwards’ as far as the progressives are concerned. But even here, several cops I know have to watch what they say very carefully. All the police department higher ups, and sometimes even the union higher ups, all sing from the same book. And the poor guys on the bottom better soon learn they better not cross the higher ups, as they have many ‘negative’ ways to reward such candor.
There’s smaller sheriff’s departments where people are still able to stand up strong. But most of the big city police departments have become cabals that do not tolerate much dissent from ‘the plan.’ By the way - the money hasn’t been printed that would get me to be a cop in a big city police department!
Ethan Allen was one of my first heroes. My Mom bought me biographies of him and Paul Revere for my birthday once.
The dogs in Burlington will sleep better at night.

Burlington, I think, is a college town. That explains a lot.
