Universities Slash Teachers' Hours to Evade ObamaCare
Breitbart ^ | January 22, 2012 | John Nolte

Posted on 01/22/2013 8:06:59 AM PST by NCjim

If you want someone to lie to you and tell you how troubling it is when anyone's income is cut in Obama's economy, you'll want to stop reading right about now. I'm only willing to go as far as to say that I wish ObamaCare wasn't the cause of all this. But it simply is a beautiful thing to see the very institutions that carry Obama's water and attempt to brainwash more of his minions, deal first-hand with the consequences of their thoughtless advocacy:

A new piece in the Wall Street Journal reports that many colleges are cutting back on the number of hours worked by adjunct professors, in order to avoid new requirements that they provide healthcare to anyone working over 30 hours per week. This is terrible news for a lot of people; 70 percent of professors work as adjuncts and many will now have to cope with a major pay cut just as requirements that they buy their own health insurance go into effect.

No, it's not terrible news.

This is America. These people will get health care through ObamaCare, and no one's going to starve.

Liberals mugged by reality is always welcome news.

It’s funny ‘cuz the teachers did it to themselves. Do liberals who vote for Obama think they’ll somehow be magically exempted from the consequences of his policies?

I am an adjunct professor in California. I voted against the prop 30 tax increase and against every dem running for office. People here are living under the illusion that prop 30 is a golden goose that has solved the community college budget crisis. Once they realize that this Ponzi scheme will make matters much worse it will be too late. Obamacare is just another nail in the already nailed shut coffin.

Your post is exactly why we should refer to this as:

"Zerocare"

He would probably argue today that we don’t have single payer health care yet and Republicans are standing in the way.

Rainbows and skittle passing unicorns will then appear like the great pumpkin for those that believe.

They don’t believe in the concept of “consequences”,
that’s why they’re liberals.

One of the siren songs of liberalism is that someone else will always be forced to pay for the consequences of your choices.

Universities and NGO’s and Non-profits are all the worst organizations about giving benefits. They expect their employees to be rich kids with trust funds and then pay the few top people 6 figure salaries with benefits.

You’d think those self-righteous full professors pulling down $150,000+ per year plus great bennies (even at the so-called community colleges)would take a cut in pay to help their less fortunate colleagues, wouldn’t you. It would only be fair. Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

I know personally 2 people who this is happening to.
It is both sad and beautiful at the same time. I hate to see them get whacked economically ... but they voted for it.

Very conflicting feelings. If it weren’t people who I know personally and care about I don’t think I would be so conflicted.

It would be fun to videotape someone pointedly asking the 150K per year professors to give up half of their salary so the adjunct professors don’t have to eat pet food to survive.

Equaling the outcome was mentioned just yesterday by Obama.

Yes, and “coverage” and $1 will get you a very small cup of coffee.

This would be a beautiful thing if some liberals would become awakened by this.

They won’t. Liberalism means you never have to say you were wrong.

Adjuncts don’t make anywhere near that amount.
Tenured professors do and they already have it made.

Of course, tenure is a dying system itself, so fewer and fewer people will be getting on that gravy train. But the ones that are already on it won’t be affected by Obamacare.

Excellent!
Great that this happens to the instigators of
