Feinstein: We cannot allow the rights of a few to override safety...
The Congressional Record ^ | January 24, 2013 | D. Feinstein D(CA)

Posted on 01/25/2013 8:55:11 AM PST by kiryandil

Edited on 01/25/2013 11:24:37 AM PST by Admin Moderator. [history]

It will be an uphill battle--all the way. I know this.

But we need to ask ourselves:

Do we let the gun industry take over and dictate policy to this country? Do we let those who profit from increasing sales of these military style-weapons prevent us from taking commonsense steps to stop the carnage?

Or should we empower our elected representatives to vote their conscience based on their experience, based on their sense of right and wrong and based on their need to protect their schools, their malls, their workplaces and their businesses?

This legislation is my life's goal. As long as I am a member of the Senate, I will work night and day to pass this bill into law. No matter how long it takes, I will fight until assault weapons are taken off our streets.

Put simply, we cannot allow the rights of a few to override the safety of all. That is not the America that our founding fathers envisioned. And that is not the America I want my children and grandchildren to live in.

So I ask everyone watching at home: please get involved and stay involved.

The success or failure of this bill depends not on me, but on you. If the American people rise up and demand action from their elected officials, we will be victorious. If the American people say ``no'' to military-style assault weapons, we will rid our Nation of this scourge.

Please, talk to your senator and your member of Congress.

By Mr. FEINSTEIN (for herself,) Mr. BLUMENTHAL, Ms. AYOTTE, Mr. BENNET, Mr.

To most progressives there are no rights or moral certainty. Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill would agree with In A Fragment on Government Bentham says ‘it is the greatest happiness of the greatest number that is the measure of right and wrong’ and describes this as a fundamental axiom. Next came Marx.

WOW! Thanks for the education. This is hedonism.

To me, moral absolutes are described in the Bible, and in God's precious Word. Sometimes, actually, USUALLY, the moral absolute is in direct conflict with hedonism.

This really IS a spiritual battle, and ONLY a spiritual battle.

I was wrong. It was Dianne Feinstein that uttered this treason, not Markie Begich.

It wasn't a total waste. Eska called his office and touched them up about it. :-)

From accidental Senator to accidental one term senator.

Hopefully.

However, I wrongly posted that Mark Begich uttered this sedition. It was Dianne Feinstein, the Undead senator from California.

My apologies.

We cannot allow the rights of a few all to override the safety of all the political/regulator/robber class.

This is what happens when you take a Democrat whose brother is a leading nutball conspiracy theorist and send him to the US Senate.

Senator Feinstein said the quote in question when she was introducing Senate Bill 150 (her Assualt Weapons Ban bill), not Senator Begich. If you go back one page, you will see that these are Feinstein’s remarks.

Thanks, smith5460! When I pulled up the page in question, it was unclear to me how to navigate in the Congressional Record.

After you guys caught my pile of poopie, I figured it out.

My apologies to all who were misled by the original INCORRECT Breaking News post.

Dianne Feinstein is the guilty party, and all of her named colleagues are her co-conpirators:

Mr. SCHUMER, Mr. DURBIN, Mr. WHITEHOUSE, Mr. BLUMENTHAL, Mr. LEVIN, Mr. ROCKEFELLER, Ms. MIKULSKI, Mrs. BOXER, Mr. REED, Mr. LAUTENBERG, Mr. MENENDEZ, Mr. CARDIN, Mrs. GILLIBRAND, Mr. SCHATZ, Mr. MURPHY, Ms. WARREN, and Mr. CARPER

God forgive me for the very un-Christian thoughts I am having about these leftists. For those that are willing dupes and especially for those that know EXACTLY what they are doing to America and to Americans....

and why.

... shall not be infringed.

Don't like it? AMEND it. Until then, OBEY, ENFORCE, UPHOLD and DEFEND it. Do not IGNORE it.

Yeah, never mind the fact that EVERY federal gun control law has paved the way to more and bigger INFRINGEMENT. It's probably too late. The Constitution is crumbling before our eyes. We're screwed without another revolution.

“Do we let the gun industry take over and dictate policy to this country?”

She is a fool. It is the American people who are not allowing a bunch of leftwing nutcase politicians to dictate policy that is unconstitutional. The gun industry only provides merchandise for the buyers who want it. The can’t make someone buy a gun! DUHHHHH!

Gun Industry = Law abiding citizens

We know how most politicians and MSM feel about the American people who are law abiding citizens (who want to be left alone) and don’t agree with them. They despise us (and the feeling is mutual).

Where this leads...

We can't allow the votes of a few to override the safety of all, if those votes result in Democrats losing power before they finish implementing their agenda.

True, we cannot allow the rights and “feelings” of a bunch of libtards, to deny us the right and means to protect our families and selves. Protection of your person and family is your responsibility, not the responsibility of others, like the cops. To this end, you need to have the proper weapons to confront those who would do you harm.

Plus, radical equality where equal outcomes are stressed rather than equal opportunity is utilitarian. Problem is, some are always “more equal” than others. Some elite class has to be around to determine the “greater good”.

“Put simply, we cannot allow the rights of a few to override the safety of all.”

Isn’t that the same rationale the ChiComs use, when favoring the stability of the state over the rights of the individual?

There, fixed it ...
