Gun group attacks gun control lobbyist who fired assault rifle(In CO Working for Bloomberg)

DENVER — In the brewing battle over guns and gun laws, even the lobbyists are fair game.

Dudley Brown, who directs Rocky Mountain Gun Owners, Colorado’s most strident defenders of gun rights, opposes any and all efforts to expand background checks or ban weapons.

And, in a Facebook post published on the group’s site Wednesday, Brown is calling one of the Capitol lobbyists spearheading the charge for gun control a “hypocrite”.

Adam Eichberg, who along with Headwaters Strategies partner Will Coyne has signed a contract to represent “Mayors Against Illegal Guns”, the group led by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, is pictured holding a high-powered rifle and labeled: “hypocrite.”

Brown edited the image from a photo taken in 2010 when Eichberg joined other lawmakers and lobbyists for Sen. Greg Brophy’s “Bike and Blast”, a day on the lawmaker’s Wray ranch riding bikes and taking aim at watermelons with semiautomatic weapons.

“He’s working for a guy (Bloomberg) who has been rabidly banging the gong to ban ‘assault rifles’ yet he himself, for fun and recreation, goes to a political fundraiser to shoot those very firearms he claims are evil,” Brown told FOX31 Denver. “The smile on his face doesn’t seem to indicate he thinks they are evil.”

Eichberg laughed off Brown’s attack at the Capitol Thursday and said that having once held and fired an assault weapon and working to limit their usage now doesn’t make him a hypocrite at all.

“I have shot a number of different weapons,” Eichberg told FOX31 Denver. “Firing an AR-15 gave me an understanding of how dangerous military style assault weapons are and perspective on what limited role they should play in our society.”

I disagree with him. I don’t think AR style rifles are any more dangerous than any other rifle. Danger in a firearm comes from mishandling one. In that light, ARs are probably less dangerous than larger caliber weapons that, if accidentally discharged, have longer range and more damage potential. The firearms themselves are not dangerous, it is the intent of the person handling it that brings the danger. I am far more afraid of getting killed in a traffic accident than by someone shooting me. For most of the population the family car is the most dangerous thing they will ever control. And the will operate it tired, drunk, distracted...

Democrats and RINOS
GOD DENIERS AND CONGENITAL LIARS

Conservatives and supporters of the 2nd amendment the Obama regime is using the 2nd amendment argument to blame gun owners for its inability to deal with the hundreds of gangland murders and shootings commited in areas under their solid control using illegally obtained firearms.

Obama’s solution to those inner city problems is to remove those rights provided by the constitution to have and bear arms from all US citizens before any search an seizure begins in those troublesome areas which by the way will never happen.

But none of those 23 so called “reforms” and unconstitutional efforts being edicted by who some call an emperor do not deal with the following issues briefly outlined below let alone insane shooters using stolen weapons. .

They won’t because instead of creating a uniformly democratic society where every citizen has an equal voice no matter what their race or ethnicity.

Obama’s policies have divided races and ethnic groups gerrymandering congressional districts where much of this criminal activity occurs.

GOPES {G-overment O-f (the) P-eople (republican party) E-lite-S} see this issue as a 3rd rail because most of it is black on black or illegal vs illegal (Mexican) activity .

GOPES are also afraid to say that policy also increased racial tension which has resited in deaths. But again GOPES accept this because of the influence of mainline socialist media which would be accusing them of “racism” if they dare to question it.

The purpose of all this hype on guns is to keep the right and conservatives focused on what the Demo-Coms describe as issues through their propaganda arm known as the MSM (mainline socialist media) not on the problems created by the “Libs” on their road of good intentions or the socialist/fascists/communists successors to comtrol over todays Democrat party;

Which is the cost ,waste, and corruption of this administration which had led to a 16 trillion dollar deficit.

Not one word addresses or offers a solution about the hundreds of gangland murders and shootings using illegaly obtained mostly handguns and revolvers .

Perpetuating the general populations ignorance and using code words like “assault rifles” they’re demonizing single shot per trigger pull semi automatic rifles, used for small game hunting or target practice. That are legal in every state but made to look like their military counterpart..

Military AR’s since Viet Nam and a DOD decision ARs are really medium caliber (22.3) machine guns designed to wound not necessarilly kill which is why they are automatic and fire as many rounds that are in its magazine once the trigger is kept in the pulled position.

They replace quick kill 30 caliber semi automatic (single shot) M-1, Springfield rifles and carbines used during WWII and Korea and approved in most states for use in big game hunting.

Obama certainly can’t critique a system created by his ilk .Ignored in his 23 edicts is that when once caught, perps get set free with lenient sentencing from “liberal” judges or sob sister plea bargain prosecution (which Obama supports for when a Illinois state senator while introducing legislation to sentence any 15 year old as an adult,(opps they could be fatherless) Obama voted “absent” with others on that roll call vote. But that leniency is promoted by the MSM,The New York Times CNN, NBC and,ABC. There’s certainly no criticism of “no snitch” mentality partcularly in areas where these shootings are rampant.

It would be nice at these rallys if conservatives would point these facts out to Obamas adoring public.

Typical response from an uber-liberal who is soooo emotional:

Thank you for taking the time to contact me about gun violence prevention and the horrific shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. I appreciate your input and thoughts on this incredibly important issue.

Let me begin by saying that the tragic murder of 20 children and six teachers in Newtown is unfathomable. There is simply no way to explain the senseless act of violence perpetrated on such young and innocent children and their teachers. As a parent, I cannot imagine the pain the families of Newtown have experienced, and like Americans across the country, I was overwhelmed with sadness and grief. I offer my deepest condolences to the families affected by this horrific tragedy.

Most upsetting, the tragic shooting in Newtown is not the first time we’ve seen such violence. We must take serious action in Congress to help protect our citizens, our children, and our law enforcement officials. I will continue to support efforts to immediately pass legislation to get extended magazine clips and military assault weapons off our streets and away from our classrooms to help prevent a tragedy like this from occurring again.

As you may know, federal law currently allows for the purchase of military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines that can fire 20 rounds in 10 seconds. In most states, there is no requirement to undergo a background check before purchasing one of these guns or magazines from a private seller.

President Obama and Vice President Biden have put forward a comprehensive plan to reduce violence in the United States by keeping weapons out of the hands of criminals and getting military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines off our streets. The plan would also increase access to mental health services and provide teachers and counselors with the training they need to identify mental illness in young people. None of this will happen without action from Congress.

In the past, many elected officials have been reluctant to support stronger gun laws. I hope that the recent tragedies across America — from Connecticut to Colorado — will spur bipartisan passage of common sense proposals like mandatory background checks for gun purchases and a ban on military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazine clips.

In the meantime, President Obama took 23 executive actions to strengthen the background check system, finalize important regulations regarding mental health, and develop emergency preparedness and response plans for schools across the country.

I support these actions — in addition to tough enforcement of existing gun laws. More importantly, I urge my colleagues to act swiftly and thoughtfully to pass legislation that will reduce gun violence and prevent more tragedies like the one at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

I appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts with me regarding this serious matter. I take seriously the trust Delawareans have placed in me and my responsibility to represent them in Congress, and I look forward to serving you in the coming years.

Sincerely,

John Carney
Member of Congress (DE)

and my response:

Once again, your knowledge is overcome by your emotions. SINCE 1934, NO ONE EXCEPT CLASS III LICENSE HOLDERS, MAY BUY “military-style assault weapons “. “military-style assault weapons “ ARE AUTOMATIC WEAPONS. AR-15 TYPE WEAPONS ARE SEMI-AUTOMATIC. BEFORE YOU SOUND OFF ON A SUBJECT, AT LEAST KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.

...military style assault weapons...

The word 'style' is a major clue that the guns in question are not military guns.
Style over substance, it's the liberal way.
