“The Constitution of most of our states (and of the United States) assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed and that they are entitled to freedom of person, freedom of religion, freedom of property, and freedom of press.” Thomas Jefferson

150,000 honest law-abiding veterans are currently in the NICS system. They didn’t do anything wrong; they honorably served their country. But when they sought VA counseling for a traumatic combat experience, the VA appointed a fiduciary to oversee their fiscal affairs and then took away their guns. And, again, there are 150,000 honest veterans in the system.

It's not about criminals or their crimes like they claim. It never was. It's about ultimate power. It's about unlimited political power and nothing more. To the power hungry politicians, the vets are the most dangerous. They'll fight back to protect this country, because they've already done it once before.
ANY politician who remotely discusses making it harder for law abiding citizens to protect themselves is NOT working in the peoples best interest. He/she is working in their own power hungry SELF interest. If they were doing it to protect us, they'd suggest everyone be armed, because a criminal or rouge element wouldn't dare take a chance against an armed citizen. There would be "a weapon behind every blade of grass."

“Joe Manchin’s draft would impose a gun ban on veterans and would set up the framework for a national gun registry.”

Ostracize him. Refuse to sell him or his family food, water, clothing and gas.

"the NICS list could soon include tens of millions of additional soldiers, police, firemen, and other law-abiding Americans"

Police have received exemptions in similar, previous legislation. There's still a large police lobby for gun control.
