On another site I read that they were stationed outside a ‘high profile’ LAPD officer’s house, guarding it. Truck pulls up and whammo. Don’t know if that’s true or not.

Good article. I see “46” on one of the little markers near the tire.

THEY SHOT AT LEAST FORTY SIX BULLETS!

I’m in full agreement with another poster — this is one to commit to memory for when a gun-grabber starts talking about how the police should be the only ones to carry guns because they’re so well-trained.

Dang, those two women are lucky to be alive. If I was them and able, I’d buy some lottery tickets today.

It was not immediately known what newspapers the women were delivering...

For real? Gee, I hope they soon find out. After all - the identity of the newspaper is vital to this case. It would explain everything if we knew the name of the newspaper.

i.e., well, these two Chinese ladies delivering newspapers “appear” not to be in any way like a 270-pound black man, but, hey, you know, looks can be deceiving, I still think they could be in some way that we just haven’t discovered yet.

The cops suspected he may have switched bodies

Only Agents of the State should have arms.

The most important thing is that Agents of the State feel safe while on duty and get home safely to their families.

It's perfectly acceptable if a few or even many innocent citizens are injured or killed so that Agents of the State can feel safe while on duty and get home safely to their families.

Lots of references on this thread to a Nissan Titan. Not sure where that was coming from - either the press or the police. Or FReepers making it up.

Either way - it was not a Titan that was found burned. It was a Frontier.

FWIW.

Are you talking about the police who try to muder innocent newspaper delivery people or are you talking about the former policeman. What the cops did in this case is attempted murder, period.

I said it before and I will say it again. Whenever people say only trained professionals should be armed because armed civilians will likely hurt themselves or innocent bystanders, I will remind them of this and other incidents like this one (NYC - Street Shootout where most bullets hit people other than the perp).

This, and the DEA agent who claimed to be the only one in the room qualified to handle a Glock. I will be saving these.

Yes. I merely made an observation about why the increase in observable presence, not rationalizing their criminal error.

I wonder - had the killer been in the truck, would he have died of a self-inflicted gunshot?

Sorry. The link in post 12....

Having once owned a Nissan Frontier, I recognize one. Even a roasty toasty burned to a crisp one. Mine was an SE. That one was an LE. LE models had the roof rack on top.

Again FWIW.

If this is how the police respond to a single gunman, what will they do when TSHTF, and they face forces that outnumber and outgun them? I suspect they will shed their uniforms and run.

They will protect their own first, then they will see everone else as a threat. That is when some busybody knowitall chief or sheriff will just disarm citizens and “let the judge sort it out.”

Error or action. Play on words. An error is an action and action could be or could not be an error. Either way, criminal.

So the former cop just had an error when he killed three people. What the cops did and what former cop did was not an error.
