Wasn’t his police career ended before he became a naval officer? That’s what I don’t get.
It’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that he will eat his gun rather than be taken alive.

This is dangerous stuff when the perpetrators start purposely going after the families of the LEOs or Gov’t officials.

Drone strikes would start the very first week.
I suspect he is not within a hundred miles of there right now. He likely put a motorcycle in his truck, and dropped it off a distance away from where he burned the truck, hoofed over to it, and rode away. If he really did a good job, the fire was set with a simple timing device when he was already a goodly distance away.
His best bet is actually to go back to Los Angeles, find a nice foreclosed home among a lot of other foreclosed homes, and set up a low profile squat, only going out at night.
From that he could choose to lay low, or go hunting.
A much bigger problem that might come about right now is when criminals realize that now is a great time to get revenge on the LAPD, by assassination, figuring he will get blamed for it.
It would benefit them both, and since he is a “kill on sight” target right now, as soon as he is nailed, who’s to say he didn’t do it?
I hope some citizen catches him moving and caps him with an ‘06.

They are in for a long hunt.
The government wants to limit law abiding citizens to 7 round clips.
Two highly trained professional law enforcement officers, when confronted by 2 unarmed elderly women delivering newspapers, were unable to take either of them out with over 50 rounds.
And they expect ordinary citizens to be able to protect themselves from armed and dangerous home invaders with no more than 7 bullets?
Where is Inspector Clouseau and the Keystone Cops when you need them???
For those keeping store, I believe the cops have now shot more people that he has. Of course, being lousy shots, so far the cops have scored no kills. I’m sure that will change.
