What did Freeh have to gain? PSU hired and paid him and his law firm to lay blame on the board of trustees and the administration?

You clearly haven't read the Freeh Report. He absolves the Trustees from any blame saying that they didn't know because they were left in the dark.

And let's not forget that atleast a third of the Trustees are political appointees from Harrisburg where, among other things, the state agency that approved all of Sandusky's adoptions and failed to indict Sandusky in 1998 is located.

Freeh's hatchet job protected the state government, the Trustees, the DPW, the CYS, the AG's office, and the Second Mile Charity.

Why do you lie? You're a mental case!

Freeh said Sandusky's conduct was in part a result of the school's lack of transparency, which stemmed from a "failure of governance" on the part of officials and the board of trustees. He said the collective inaction and mindset at the top of the university trickled all the way down to a school janitor who was afraid for his job and opted to not report seeing sex abuse in a school locker room in 2000.
