[He (Yusuf al-Qaradawi) declared that Islam’s mandated death-penalty for apostasy has kept Islam alive since the 1400s. “If they had gotten rid of the apostasy punishment Islam wouldn’t exist today,” Qaradawi said on the show.]

A prominent Sunni cleric is admitting that fear of being beheaded, hanged, stoned to death or blown up by a car bomb is the only thing that keeps Muslims in their mosques.

The more you think of it the funnier it is.

They have to *kill* their followers, if they stray, or they religion would collapse. They admit it. Hell of a religion you got there. Literally.

It’s no different from the way communists need to kill anyone who tries to leave their country’s boundaries.

Do they want people who don’t think? Of what use are such?

Do they want people who think? They will end up pondering, “If our way is so great, why is the penalty so drastic for those who stray?”

I guess the Inquisition, and most of English history, and the Salem witch trials, show the same mindset, but we’ve evolved.

Please bear with me, I’m just thinking out loud . . . .
