>>The “Lawful Prospective Immigrant” visa — which would allow a holder to work and travel — could be obtained after an applicant undergoes a criminal background check, gets fingerprinted and pays fees.<<
I 100% promise this: The illegals will file their paperwork, get something that says they are “provisional” or “prospective” meaning they are now legal. That will end the process for them. No background check, no fees paid, no nothing. The sheer volume of illegals who are now “legal” will overwhelm the system.
The end result will be amnesty.
These people don’t want citizenship. All they want is our jobs and welfare benefits.
Will women be included ?
The bureaucratic red tape in processing these 11 million (probably more like 20 million) illegals can not in my opinion be done like they lay it out. Saying it is simple but actually doing it as stated will be a monumental task.
11 million my a$$. Its over 40 million. Its them and all their family members.
All these “immigration reform” plans are bad news for this country
USA Today is still around?
They see themselves as still citizens of the countries they left. Note the number of them which still proudly display the flag of their former country.
People who come here legally with the intent of becoming citizens are Americans in their hearts already.

None of my grandparents became citizens. They came here throuhg Ellis Island circa 1910. They worked hard all their lives.
I predict the “eight year” requirement will be struck from the legislation.
