Obama Administration Moves Forward on Climate Change Without Congress -Forthcoming regulation

President Barack Obama is tired of waiting for Congress to move on legislation to reduce carbon emissions, and his administration is poised to move forward on actions to do just that—including a move that will effectively eliminate the possibility of any new coal plant opening in the United States, experts say.

"We can choose to believe that Superstorm Sandy, and the most severe drought in decades, and the worst wildfires some states have ever seen were all just a freak coincidence," Obama said during his State of the Union address. "Or we can choose to believe in the overwhelming judgment of science—and act before it's too late."

[ENJOY: Political Cartoons About Global Warming]

Climate change has been a controversial public policy issue in recent years, as many conservative Republicans have denied a relationship between carbon emissions and incremental increases in temperatures, which many scientists link to increasingly severe weather events.

We used to think that having three branches of government was a good idea.

Obama has shown us that we only need The One.

Obama is on tape as having said this was his plan years before he ran for POTUS. Since he has been elected twice apparently the American people actually want this.

We’ll see how they feel when they see their electric bill in a couple of years.

Yes, wildfires caused by decades of forest mismanagement are caused by global warming. Only in a liberal’s brain.

Tell me if I am wrong (As an Aussie I don’t know everything about your political system)but won’t it be easier to undo these things that he has done by going around congress than it would be had he followed the correct political procedure. Just looking for a silver lining in what are otherwise dark political clouds.

“We’ll see how they feel when they see their electric bill in a couple of years.”

I used to feel that at least I could enjoy listening to liberals whine when Obama’s policies cost them.

I now know that Americans in general, and liberals in particular, are so stupid, that they require the Obama media to tell them what they should think. Therefore, if the Obama media puts forth any cover at all for the high energy costs, something like: it’s Republican’s fault because of the energy costs for printing all the cash that Republicans hoard, that will cause the stupid public to be content with Obama.

How much buzz do you hear about the price of gasoline? Almost none. Why? The Obama media hasn’t told the stupid American public it’s a problem.

Obama can do anything he wishes and there’s not a thing we as individuals can do. Those we elect to congress and the senate are supposed to and do have the power to stop this arrogant fool but they are scared to death of him. They cower before him like spineless punks and punkettes and let him have his way them. We have had a one man government for over four years so why are we paying these other wimps to crawl along behind him with their lips puckered up????

I’m as sour as I could possibly be on what Americans have done to a fine Republic. So, my answer to your question is: Yes, but... where the qualifier is that there has to be political will to undo what’s been done. The opposition party, (Republicans), is filled with career politicians who want nothing more than to remain employed. If there is any political gain to keeping Obama’s moves in place, there will be no roll back.

If, somehow, by a miracle, or a plague that wipes out the existing media and political elite, and magically imparts the ability to think onto the American public, yep, things could change.

Defund the EPA. oboma is not our emperor.

In a way yes, but also no. Part of the strength of a country is its infrastructure. If it is deliberately dismantled, it takes a certain amount of time and energy to get it going again. In the mean time, much suffering and misery is going on.

We can rebuild. We have done it before. It will simply take a good amount of time. :(

From his recent SOTU speech...

“But if Congress won’t act soon to protect future generations, I will,” Obama said. “I will direct my cabinet to come up with executive actions we can take, now and in the future, to reduce pollution, prepare our communities for the consequences of climate change and speed the transition to more sustainable sources of energy.”

He's not going to let the Constitution get in the way of Agenda 21.

Thanks for trying to find a silver lining but there may be no after Obama. If he decides to just keep his job, we don’t have anyone brave enough to tell him he can’t and enforce it.

This is the damndest situation I have ever witnessed.

The thoughts of the low information Marxist supporter:

Gas prices up. Check.
Electricity prices up. Check.
Taxes up. Check.
Unemployment up and staying up. Check and check.
Income stagnant. Check.
I hate rich white people who hate women, “Climate Change”, bad hurricanes, Walmart and guns.
I love my new tattoo, abortions and “Healthcare for All”.
I love our President, The NCAA Tournament, Beyonce and my “COEXIST” bumper sticker.
I’m not a racist, and therefore I’m happy.

This is the damndest situation I have ever witnessed.

He's managed to deceive many. He'd deceive even the righteous elite if it were possible.

What are obomas greatest successes? First, building up the armies against Israel. Second, destroying the U.S., a Christian nation and a restrainer who would come to Israels aid.

During his first 3.5 years he showed himself as a man of peace. His second 3.5 years will show the world who he really is.

We’ll see how they feel when they see their electric bill in a couple of years.

As long as the new regs only apply to NEW construction, there's likely NOT going to be much impact on electric bills.... Natural Gas remains very cheap... and, Nat Gas power plants are MUCH less costly to build relative to coal.

No huge runup in power costs will occur until... Nat gas gets expensive again. Which, it will.. but, it'll be awhile.
