When a writer/reporter uses phrases like that, whether on the left or the right, it is a propaganda technique designed to put the reader into the story and make him ‘feel’ as he’s on the side of the angels....

Bingo! I knew it was propaganda as soon as he said "the poor...".

The average person never thinks about stuff like this (and why would they?) but all good writing is, in and of itself, propaganda,

Whenever we read a genuinely informative story and say “My, what a well written piece that was” Guess what? It may have been very informative, but with what information? Was it info you WANTED to hear? Info that ‘made sense’? Info that was factually correct?

Or was it just that the writer was so good at his job that you bought into concepts and ideas that led you to believe you thought that way all along?

Think about that for a bit ;)
