The article said the hacker was able to access emails to Hitlary from 2005. Kind of strange that someone would hold on to them for so long isn’t it?

Not so odd. People generally go back and delete old emails only when they're hit with notice that their storage quota is full.

I have my email program set to immediately remove an email from the server once it’s retrieved. That way you avoid those storage quota messages.
