In fact, I wonder if this isn’t even understood by DC as a kind of insult to the new pope?

(Of course, the VP might go; but the Senate Minority Leader—especially one who is so outspoken on violating Catholic doctrine?)

Of course they know it is an insult. It is precisely why this delegation was put together. It is a show of force against the Roman Catholic Church.

As someone else said, I hope...nay I pray...this group is denied communion. The political ramifications of them receiving communion “from the Pope,” would be devastating to the American Catholic Church.

Pope Francis has dealt with fascists before and I hope God gives him the wisdom to deal with them on the world stage.
