The question becomes, how do we get those worms back in the can?

The problem is that a whole lot of flag-waving patriots evidently don't know the two pages worth of constitutional statutes and Supreme Court case precedents that would force corrupt Congress back into its constitutional Section 8, Article I-limited power cage. So enlightened patriots have to share what they know about the federal government's constitutionally limited powers, including Article V and the 10th Amendment, with Constitution-ignorant patriots and Obama supporters.

Widespread knowledge of Justice John Marshall's clarification of Congress's limited powers to lay taxes would be be a kick in the teeth for Congress too. Marshall had clarified that Congress is prohibited from laying taxes in the name of state power issues, essentially anything that it cannot justify under Section 8.

"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." --Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

And while patriots get people up to speed on Congress's constitutionally limited powers, many patriots, possibly including you, are going to have to be warned about using Obama guard dog Fx News as a comfort zone for conservatives. After all, Fx has had years of opportunity to reconnect viewers with Congress's constitutonally limited powers but has not done so. So I surmise that Bull OReilly and Hanity are reading from Obama's teleprompter when Obama isn't using it.

John Kennedy once said something like ‘those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable.’ I believe the term “Romanian term limits” covers that situation. If I were a politician in D.C. I’d stay away from lamp-posts just as a matter of principle.

The elective office pensions didn’t start in earnest until Truman. After Truman left office he was pretty poor as far as it went, and the congress approved a pension for the president.

Congressional pension started in 1942 but that evaporated after public outrage. Then in 1946 the voted themselves and the senate a pension.

This should be abolished.

There should also be laws relating to activities after time in congress, and the no former congresscritter should be in the employ of anyone/entity who does business with the government in any aspect...for life. Their salaries should be tax exempt for their service, but they should not have medical care or pensions after they leave office.

Further, an assessment of the financial condition of the elective office holder’s personal finances should undertaken at the time they enter office. They should not improve their financial position beyond what continued normal economic activity in the businesses that they were previously engaged, would afford them. Any violation of such would garner hefty fines and significant prison sentences.

They should be forced to go on medicare/medicaid and live off of Socialist Stupidity, not a lavish pension and royal medical care.

Agreed, on all counts. Getting that structure in to replace the comfy feathered nests that they have constructed for themselves up to this point will not be easy.

They’re like welfare queens. They just vote themselves whatever they want out of the pockets of the producers in our society.
