Sen. Rand Paul: Illegal immigrants should be allowed to obtain legal status

The dramatic shift in the Republican Party on immigration continued Tuesday, as Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), a conservative tea party icon and possible 2016 presidential contender, endorsed an overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws that would allow the nation’s estimated 11 million illegal immigrants to obtain legalized status. “Immigration will not occur until conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. That’s why I’m here today: to begin that conversation and become part of the solution,” he said in a breakfast speech Tuesday morning before the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Washington.

“Still, I really have to wonder what these Republicans are smoking. They all seem hell bent on creating more Democrat voters. Must be “fuzzy” math; as in fuzzy like a 3 month old banana.”

Regardless of what they may be smoking most of these populations are here and we either appeal to them or we die.

The only way a GOP candidate will ever appeal to them is to lie and claim to be a Democrat.

Then So be it, that may in fact be our future.

It may in fact be that the only way Conservative can appeal to this otherwise natural constituency is to do so under the Democratic banner.

“Well, then, Rand Paul needs to stay out of it.”

Perhaps you can point me to a leader that can rally that kind of army together assuming such is even possible. An army not even Ronald Reagan could rally.

How about a few SIMPLE steps? Hmmm?

Secure the border; deport illegal aliens on contact with police; stop enticing illegal aliens: no driver license, no college tuition, nothing whatsoever; prosecute employers.

VERY SIMPLE. Very mild.

Stop enticing illegal aliens: no driver license, no college tuition - SHOULDN’T BE DOING THIS ANYWAY - NEVER USED TO DO IT - DOESN’T COST ANY MONEY, SAVES MONEY

Deport illegal aliens on contact with police: USED TO HAPPEN UNTIL OBAMA DECIDED NOT TO ENFORCE THE LAW, THEN UPS THE ANTE AND RELEASES THOSE ALREADY DETAINED

Prosecute employers: WHO DO YOU THINK USED TO DO THOSE JOBS “AMERICANS WON’T DO”???? HMMM? CUT OUT THE WELFARE CHECKS AND WATCH AMERICANS LINES UP FOR WORK.

VERY SIMPLE!

Rather than appeal to foreigners why not appeal to citizens? It’s a reasonable expectation, what’s the problem? Why can’t this be done?

“Sen. Rand Paul: Illegal immigrants should be allowed to obtain legal status”

Stop globalism! Close the borders! We used to be a nation of laws before the tax-exempt foundations underwrote social engineering projects, dumned down our education system and bought off / intimidated our elected officials.

An earlier version of this story inaccurately reported that Sen. Rand Paul had called in his speech for a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants. His speech did not include a reference to a path for citizenship, and the story has been corrected.

That's kind of like democracy isn't socialism, but it is a step in that direction, followed by communism.

Being for allowing illegal criminal insurgent alien trespassing colonists "legal status" is no different than a "path" to citizenship.

If they become "legal" isn't that the next step?

All these "solutions" pushed by politicians are not productive towards the correct end of this problem.

Here is the way this problem should be dealt with:

If they really want to be fair with immigration—if they are going to allow those here to stay and be in “line”—they need to invite everyone of those that are going through the process the legal way to come up HERE to the USA and go to the front of the line.

Yes, in front of those that sneaked across the border (and those born as "citizens" via the bogus interpretation of the 14th amendment) and the criminal illegal's behind them.

Or maybe they should send one home for every one going by the rules and not breaking the law who is allowed to come to America.

Instead, if you go the legal route, it takes years and you have to stay in your own country while it is processed.
Enforce all the laws and rules, re instate 187 in Calif, and self deportation will rise.

Imagine if a leftist liberal judge--ONE person--had not been allowed to go against the WILL of the people in California how much better off that state would be.

In states that enforce the immigration laws---and do NOT allow non citizens to have free education, welfare, food stamps etc--unemployment has gone DOWN and the states have become more solvent.

Why? Because the illegal criminal aliens left. Some went home to Mexico, some went to other more liberal states where they could work and get free stuff for all their relatives.

It used to be in order to come to this country you had to have a sponsor, prove you would not be a burden on the State, and learn English.

Sorry, Rand Paul has jumped on the legalization band wagon, whose final outcome is slated to be citizenship for illegal criminal insurgent alien colonists.

Will none of our leaders step up and do this right? Doesn't look like it.

What they also don’t get is the issue.

They can go to the border states and hang around as a citizen for a few days and see the invasion.

What they would get is that after border security is pushing back the new borders which are way north of what they think they are, and demand assimilation. No “illegals go first” No, “let’s all be bilingual until you stupid Americans learn Spanish, because we sure as hell don’t have the time to learn your language and you’re letting us get away with this”.

“Whatever”

You got to fight with something, and that is exactly the problem we have right now with achieving your goals. We just don’t have the means to pull it off. Find us the means, or at least a way to achieve the means and you will be in business.

“Secure the border;”

That alone is an extremely difficult proposition, walls are designed to keep army’s out not individuals. The only thing I can think of to keep people from illegally crossing that border is landmines so that all but the most desperate would be too terrified to try.

As it is right now they are already braving the natural hazards that claim many of their lives. The draw must either be strong or the population ignorant of the dangers.

I suspect its both but nonetheless the border traffic seems to flow like water. No sooner do we throw someone out than they come back in.

” deport illegal aliens on contact with police;”

This could be and is done but it requires State support.

Support we only have in a handful of states(like Arizona, not California) as well as federal willingness to do their own job and pick up & deport the illegal aliens rather than fool around for 6 months.

Obviously we don’t have that with the Obama Administration nor will we have that ever again unless we are able to get a conservative.

“stop enticing illegal aliens: no driver license, no college tuition, nothing whatsoever;”

Once again that requires State support, and perhaps federal prosecution. Which we don’t have in Washington and will never again have in many states already overrun by with populations sympathetic to the invasion.

” prosecute employers.”

This is already happening but once again if it is to mean anything we must have State support, Washington simply does not have the man power nor on the ground knowledge to carry out such an operation.

Even the Federal IRS operates mostly by terror.

“I don’t read paragraphs full of excuses”

You seem to imply that our problems are not without solutions. If that is the case then please do not wast time in providing them solutions.

We are here on this form to hear & process what you have to say, and if viable try to help implement it.

We have all been for LEGAL immigration ..... No news here IMO.

We are a nation of immigrants, not criminals as the socialist liberal democrats would have us become. Any path has definition , established boundaries and a clear destination . That path must be followed as set forth by our laws with regards to becoming a citizen.

Follow said LAW aka path or we as a nation are lost in the wilderness per se....

My opinion only.... Stay Safe !

To: plain talk

A key difference with the Schumer/Rubio bill. The Senate bill would grant probationary legal status to illegals on the day the bill is signed into law; the path to a green card and eventual citizenship would, however, be contingent upon improvements in border security. Immigration hawks argue that that’s not good enough. Realistically, once someone has probationary legal status, there’ll be no political will to revoke it or to postpone the citizenship process indefinitely until border security has been tightened. Paul’s solution is to make that initial probationary legal status also contingent upon better border security. Illegals here get nothing until there’s real evidence that the border’s being enforced more comprehensively.”

Paul knows that the PTB won’t secure the border so, he simply playing a hand the establishment coan’t stomach.

And Yes I care NOT for Rubio and his establishment ties.
