MI:Hundreds gather for pro-gun rally at state Capitol

Hundreds of people came to the state Capitol today to voice their support for pro-gun legislation.

Many openly carried firearms, which is allowed in and around the Capitol building.

Jim Gulliksen is with the Michigan Militia Corps of Wolverines.

He says he’s happy that state lawmakers have taken up a number of pro-gun bills recently.

“Lansing has shown some trends lately to reduce some of the restrictions, as far as like the pistol purchase permit and some of the controls on where you can carry weapons. We do like to see that.”

There are several gun-related bills in the Michigan Legislature. Very few have moved out of committee so far this year.

Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville says things like road funding and other budget issues are more pressing.

“Hundreds”? That needs to read thousands and then millions. We all need to get on the band wagon and put these gun grabbers back to where they can NO LONGER touch our 2nd Ammendment rights. PERIOD!

it’s hard to rally in big numbers during the week as most pro-gun people work for a living- unlike any lefty rally where they pay people to show up.

Check this out. A democrat rep from Detroit complains on facebook and gets slapped around in the comments on his photo. The photo he posted is pretty blurry. I guess he was shaking pretty badly when he took it.

Many citizens were allowed into the Capitol and House Office Building with assault weapons, pistols, and rifles. There was no State Police present to monitor as they were during the Right to Work protests. On another note, there were elementary classes being given tours of the Capitol while these citizens were walking around with their high powered weapons...Does anyone find something wrong with this?

Yeah. Your whining about normal people realizing the State Police were required to keep the commie agenda "Occupy" morons under control but NOT needed to keep orderly and peaceful armed citizens under control.
