OP-EDThe Hartford Courant 7:17 p.m. EDT, March 18, 2013

As a leader of a Connecticut manufacturing business who answers to owners, I can tell you the one question I am asked regularly, "Why does it make sense to stay or grow here?"

For 175 years, Hartford and Connecticut have been our home. The genius and vision of Samuel Colt built a core of manufacturing excellence that helped make Hartford one of the nation's wealthiest cities and ignited the industrial revolution in the Connecticut River Valley. Amazingly, that heritage continues with a substantial firearms industry and a critical mass of skilled craftsman and machining expertise for aerospace and other precision industries that are the envy of the country.

But this tremendous economic advantage is in grave danger. What's most astounding is our advantage is not being taken away — it's being given away.

Yep, I think that Colt should coordinate with Magpul and other firearm manufacturers that are thinking of leaving anti 2A states, and jointly choose an area in which to create an all-new manufacturing center. East Tennessee would be a great location for all of them!

Yes and there have been some major relocation of companies to Texas. Rick is tireless in promoting that. I have yet to hear a company who relocated who regretted it.

The plum I would like to see him get is the Chicago CME. It would demonstrate that raising taxes hurts business. Many of these guys are rich and pay France-like taxes in Ill. CAT has moved some plants out, but the main office is still in Ill. Moving the CME to Dallas or Houston would embarrass Obama and his plans for the US. When Limbaugh moved to Fla from NYC, I thought there would be a big rethink of this, but it turns out there are many more millionaires to soften the blow. Texas can't take everyone, but there is still plenty of room to build here. I don't like what it has done to the cities, but hey, you gotta break eggs to make a cake. The overall attitude of Texas is changing to more of a liberal Dem type thinking. It scares me to have people run from Dems and then bring their Dem crap with them. Kinda like the Mexicans waving the Mexican flag after they fought to get here. I don't get it.

With all the snowbirds and Californians moving here, they bring their abortion and gay marriage with them. If they would just stay in Austin, at least we would know where to find them. When they move next door, there is usually gun play.

The first gneration of Mexican immigrants are OK. They know only hard work, little pay and subjection in MX. By the 2nd & 3rd generation they have figured out how to game the system and the socialist have them hooked. Most don’t have a clue what the price ultimately is.
