PTA Goes Anti-Gun – Time to Tear up my Membership Card
Ammo Land ^ | Mar. 21, 2013 | AmmoLand Staff

So it looks like the National Parent Teacher Association President, Betsy Landers, is now fully embracing gun control civilian disarmament. She is openly calling for banning guns, preaching that background checks will solve everything, and equating the 2nd Amendment to the right to go duck hunting. Yes, duck hunting.

I grew up around guns and am comfortable with having a shotgun or a .22 in the house for hunting purposes. (…) And if banning assault weapons, making sure that everybody who buys a gun has a background check, if banning all those will keep even one child safe, then it’s worth doing all we can do to make sure that happens.

Ummmmm…. You do realize that criminals dont do background checks, right? (The Newtown killer stole his guns) You do realize that the 2nd Amendment has absolutely nothing to do with hunting, right?

As an advocate, my intent is not to take your guns. My intent is to protect children. No child in this country should have to go through what happened at Sandy Hook.

Thats absolutely right. This is about protecting children, but what Betsy Landers is proposing will do nothing to protect any child at any school. I have said it before and I will say it again… Secure the damn schools! No amount of legislation is going to keep an insane lunatic from shooting up a school.

This is such a dangerous thing that its almost beyond comprehension. For an organization with such close ties to the people who are making decisions about the safety of our children to come out and be openly pushing for anti-gun legislation is scary. What she is pushing for will not keep kids safe. It will only create a false sense of security.

Betsy Landers, you are misguided and the path that you are trying to take the schools of this country down is going to get more kids killed because it wont solve the problem.

What do you expect from government schools?

[x] religion’s schools teach that [x] religion is true.

No less with Humanist religious schools.

Hate to tell you this but EVERYTHING associated w/ the “Public” “School” “System” has ALWAYS been ANTI-2nd Amendment.

The “public school” is the Bus Ministry of the State Church of Humanism.

The “public school”, including the “charter school”, is BY FAR, the largest, most expensive, most subversive, and most destructive entitlement program in the country.

The “public school” is better understood as the “government school collective”.

It is silly to imagine that you can fix the public schools, because the very concept itself is collectivist.

It is hypocritical to submit your children to an authority with whom you fundamentally disagree. Children do not trust hypocrites, so this will undermine your own authority, let alone influence, with your children.

Any child that comes out of the government school collective with their moral compass and common sense intact does so in spite of the government school indoctrination, not because of it.

To understand the content and compass of modern education, see ...
http://www.scribd.com/doc/54400125/Change-Agents-in-the-Schools-Barbara-Morris-1979

If you want to win the culture war, have lots of children (see my tagline) and homeschool them or form your own school cooperative with your church or synagogue and like-minded friends and relatives.

Nobody loves your children more than you do.

Nobody can teach your children better than you can.

Nobody knows your children better than you do.

Your children would love nothing better than to be taught by you, if you start doing so before they are corrupted by the government school collective.

If you have children, make whatever sacrifices you must to get them out of the public schools.

DO NOT FEED THE BEAST!

Especially not with your own children.

And DO NOT TAKE GOVERNMENT “EDUCATION” MONEY!

He that pays the piper calls the tune, and that’s especially true for any government entitlement program.

It's demonstrable that these things do nothing of the sort, and there is no evidence to prove that they do.

Now what, Betsy? What do you when you base your whole argument on falsehoods?

The PTA is a “top down” organization. It takes its marching orders from the national organization, not from the parents of the particular school. The national organization is liberal and works in conjunction with the NEA. It is amazing the number of stands the PTA will take without ever taking a vote from the parents in the organization.

The PTA?

Almost a million years ago my Mother was the President of the a local school’s PTA (probably about 1958 or 1959)

Sometime in the early 2000’s she gets a letter from them asking if she would be president again. Thinking it was a mistake, she called the school that had sent the letter and explained that she hadn’t had any school age children in more than 30 years. They said that’s OK, an ex-president can serve, and we are just trying to keep it alive.

So the next month she goes to the meeting. There’s about eight parents there, and none of them wants to be president. When she was president the first time there used to be 4-500 parents and meetings were held in the gym.

And sometimes we wonder why/how schools get away with the BS they do.

No amount of legislation is going to keep an insane lunatic from shooting up a school.

Nor a terrorist, and anyone who would target kids fits the mold.

Most "lockdown" programs consist of sitting in a building which can be forcibly entered, hiding in cloakrooms and under desks, praying the maniac will run out of ammo before they get there.

Some security plan.

Not true I received 3 varsity letters from a public school in the 80’s for rifle shooting. Indiana High School Athletic Association at the time had it as a recognized varsity sport. Don’t know if they dropped it, could be - but think the JROTC programs still have teams and receive letters.

Why in the world would you be surprised? No one else is.

Back in the 50’s and 60’s the PTA was as American as apple pie and reflected the values of those times. To day it’s Marxist/Socialist and reflects the value of these times.

What gender actually runs the PTA? Answer: women. Who changed our government by the people to government controls the people? Answer: women. What was the most powerful bloc to elect Obama? Answer: women.

Any surprises here? I didn’t think so.

perhaps it’s time for 2 Americas- one where3 libtards like her can live in a comunity where they feel noone shoudl be allowed a gun- ban all guns etc- and one where everyoen is required to own guns to protect our constitutional rights since law enforcement and govenrment seem unwilling ot protect our constitution for us-

We’ll see which society criminals target as a habit then- but by golly she and others liek her will ‘feel safe knowing they aren’t contributing to the problem’
