Yep. With the exception of the Oilers’ Fight Song (which can be appreciated by only a few of us old Luv Ya Blue fans) and the Dr. Carson part toward the end of the hour, there wasn’t much to grab and hold on to one’s attention. Missable hour, for sure.

Fridays aren’t usually my favorite day for listening to Rush because of its open line Friday format.

Still, I love Rush, and I’m not going anywhere ... even when he bores me.

My family loved that era and song as well. I was a Dallas Cowboy fan (Traitor! I know). Just to tease me my father would “Bomp, da bomp, da bomp, ‘cause we’re the Houston Oilers....etc.” I made a song of my own which I will not share here, heh.

Interestingly enough, the Miami Dolphins also use that same tune. Heard it when I lived in FL.

I don't think Rush's voice is degrading at all. Hubby and I are currently on a driving trip between Connnecticut and South Florida (and back to CT)... Rush's voice sounds vastly different depending on what AM station we're tuned into. He usually sounds great on all FM stations.

Maybe the "problem" with Rush's voice is with your radio station?
