Well, if the government can fine/tax you for not purchasing a product then I guess anything goes.
That is why I don’t want to cede one inch of this country to liberals. There are many good, conservative, patriotic Americans caught behind “enemy lines” as it were. We cannot abandon these Americans to the liberal power structures in their states. We must make common cause with them all and help them improve things in their states.
Yep, they think they are safe in the cozy offices. They should be watching their backs. They shall rue the day.
Is not “fury” until people start dying. Just sayin’.
And Tucson....and Phoenix....
The a$$holes are not doing anything about illegal guns in the hands of violent criminals. You know, the ones who are laughing at this legislation.
Sheriff Maketa releases statement regarding gun control stance
Historically, any citizen would be allowed to speak if they arrived at the Capitol early and signed up on testimony records. Although sign up sheets were in place and citizens including myself signed up, we were completely disregarded. Minutes after I signed up to testify, I learned a different process would be utilized and testimony was based on three categories: experts, preferred witnesses, and public witnesses. No explanation was provided to define expert or preferred witness. I was told this decision was made by the senate president and the chairperson of the hearing committee. Additionally, experts would have no time constraints and all others would be restricted to three minutes.
As I made my way out of the Capitol, I was shocked at the number of people who attended these hearings. It's estimated the number of people in attendance reached 1,000. I spoke to several and was told they just wanted their voice to be heard.
I am not sharing this because of the outcome of the hearings that day; rather I am sharing this because of the process implemented and the faces of all those citizens that were never permitted to participate in the process. Government is supposed to be by the people, for the people and on this day, they were crushed and kicked to the side. Special interest coalitions and hand picked experts with no relevant expertise trumped our citizens.

Is my Tagline a bit much?
I hope it catches on.
Point taken. Anybody know how to arrange a hit in prison?
Good point, well taken. Freepers need to cool it with the infighting and the cheap shots at Straw Men. Please remember that such generalizations only pit us against one another.
Don’t let the nanny police staters of either party have power or else...
It’s getting really bad.
Yes, Hogarth’s and Dickens’ London was always a pit of corruption (and still is to some extent).
Well, among the yahoo comments Susan has it all figured out.
We elected Hickenlooper to GET RID OF GUNS in our state. The COWBOY days are over. It's time to move into the future, into the 21st Century. We are the state that will SET THE EXAMPLE and make sure that there are no more guns ANYWHERE. Sure, a bunch of RIGHT WING EXTREMISTS will say that bad people will have guns, but we can talk to them and we can convince them of their mistakes. We have NO DOUBT that they will come around and also turn in their guns, when they see what a bright future for Colorado this will mean. Susan,
Yea, let me guess. Susan moved from California.
Dear Susan,
How old are you ..... 5?
lol
I agree with Tulsa! It has alway been sort of a liberal bastion in Oklahoma, but it has gotten worse over the years... Luckily, I moved out into the surrounding hinterlands...
Jim has said he lives in Fresno (I think that's the town) and says it's conservative, or some conservative. I may be wrong about the name of the town, so he can correct me, please. So, I don't think he lives in a freaking totally liberal town/county.
I haven't checked to see where Fresno is, but I'm hoping it's not in the part that would fall into the sea in a bad earthquake.
