Liberal elitist Hollywood Actor Jim Carrey, who enjoys the protection of an armed bodyguard, thought it would be hilarious to make fun of gun owners in a video he published yesterday (in mature fashion, Carrey posted the video on a college site).
Oh, you didn't laugh? Neither did I. Allapundit summed it up best:
Despite his cheap, stupid nastiness towards gun-rights supporters on Twitter, I figured this would be worth a few laughs. And it was for 10 seconds, during the Sam Elliott cameo, which is mainly a sight gag. As for the song, its neither funny nor biting. Its basically an extended dick joke of the sort thats been thrown at gun owners for decades. If youre not playing for laughs then presumably youre playing for emotional impact, to hit your opponent hard but hes not playing for either here. Its a pure novelty, almost to prove that Carreys capable of writing a serviceable country tune rather than to push an anti-gun message. (The Funny or Die website trumpets that the songs available for download on iTunes.) The cultural references too are so dated that at times this feels like a lost In Living Color sketch.
And this guy gave the best video response about Carrey's hypocrisy:
MUST SEE VIDEO AT LINK! Hysterical satire of Carrey's idiocy.
Many people ask "why pay attention to people like Carrey or Hollywood at all?" The Right has ignored Hollywood for decades which has inevitably resulted in losing major culture battles. The fact is Hollywood used to be patriotic and conservative, but a lack of respect for its power and influence over the years has put conservatives into a position of fighting an uphill battle. Why? Culture and Hollywood trump politics every, single time on nearly every issue. In the age of the low-information voter, we have an obligation to call out Hollywood hypocrites like Carrey because ignoring them will only lead to a tougher battle down the road.

Would you leave your kids alone with Jim Carrey? That’s all you need to know about him.
To: V_TWIN
I base all my opinions off of them.

Glad to see Hollywood icon Tina Fey, whose career got jump-started by ridiculing Sarah Palin, is tanking with her latest movie.

Carrey hasn’t been funny since “In Living Color”. He only appeals to the stupidest section of the population. Hence, he’s a RAT (and a Canadian).

He wasn’t funny then, either. The Wayans were and are still waaaaay better...................

Liberals have a certain way of distinguishing what THEY NEED from what YOU NEED.
Jim Carrey is an “important public figure”. He could be a target of some crazy person. He needs protection. He needs weapons.
You are not an “important public figure”. You face no such threat and therefore you should be banned from possessing any kind of a weapon.
A similar argument can be made for politicians having SUVs but not you. They need an SUV. You just want one. Big difference. There needs to be a law to restrict ownership to just those who NEED one. Really NEED one. Wanting an SUV needs to be criminalized

Dumb and Dumber was funny. Though I thought Jeff Daniels was the better of the two.

You know when celebrities careers are over when they become “Activists” the liberal mindset..THEY are the only ones worth protecting, they can have guns..WE can’t..funny how Carrey hates guns yet his upcoming movie “Kick Ass 2” is loaded with gun violence..guess its OK as long as HE is the one making money..He has armed guards guarding his stupid ass yet WE can’t defend ourselves..even Jenny McCarthy had enough sense to drop his ass

Carrey has been getting his backside roasted, toasted and broiled over this on Twitter and Twitchy both.
and IMHO, he dang well should!

A guy whom spent most of his career playing a mental case ALMOST EVERY TIME wants to be taken seriously? LOL! That was one of the funniest lines when this all started - "I thought Jim Carrey was only acting stupid"
