Notice-- I'm sure most have-- but to be clear, the WH has perversely re-framed this issue by not as a Constitutional rights issue, because it's a sure loser for them, but as a victims' rights crusade.
As if we change the Constitution in response to behavior of criminals. Essentially that is what we have here.

I have a feeling that many of the elected officials pushing for, and particularly the ones that enacted gun control measures will decide to not run again or are up against term limits.

The victims have the right to have someone who supports legislation explain how the legislation would have prevented them becomeing a victim.
Gun registration: Adam Lanza didn’t buy his guns. He stole them.
Assault weapon restrictions: Adam Lanza didn’t use a weapon that met the CT definition of ‘assault weapon’.
See how that works?
